What is the line on this game ? I saw it earlier, but can't remember.

In all LU games against the big boys, I believe we have played closer in every game, than most predicted.

But when the ball is teed up, it will be 11 on 11.

I think those things will keep us in the game IMHO, to actually win, we additionally need to have at least one player elevate their game to create a matchup problem for the Hokies Could be Masha, as it has been documented that VT has struggled with dual threat QBs Could be Farrow, but my $$ would be on JuWan Wells Gill and Singletary have been praising his performance in a way we haven't heard from our coaches much in the past If VT's tackles cannot block him one on one, he can not only cause problems himself, but if they double team him, it will create opportunities for Green, Avery and others, Creating havoc with the DL is one of the main ways you generate turnovers

Ha...I don't think our chances are THAT slim PH...but we definitely will be one of the longer shots out in Vegas for this one. They will have a new starter taking the first snap for them, but Motley (from nearby Christiansburg) is probably the most experienced QB they have and if he gets the start I think that will make for a longer day for us than the others, who are largely unproven (IMO)

Looks like Jerod Evans will run the offence.

Quotes from Damien's latest article:
Two sophomores — cornerback Jeremy Peters and defensive end Juwan Wells — were named captains following the spring practices, but were removed from those roles over the summer.

“Just some things came up that we saw where they maybe were not quite ready for it,” Gill said. “We just kind of made that determination at that time and discussed that with them over it. Really in both cases in a sense, they kind of came to us a little bit about it, too. Again, sometimes you have those things occur and make the adjustments.”
The uncertainty at several positions pushed back the Flames’ preparation for Virginia Tech back by a couple of days.
The Flames often redshirt true freshmen linemen to get them acclimated with the college game and to have a full season in the weight room, but the lack of depth because of injuries is a reason why a couple of freshmen — Bounds and Crawford — are being considered for playing time immediately.

“We’re already talking about a couple of freshmen that we’re saying maybe even playing and will definitely be in the two-deep at this time,” Gill said. “We’re still working through that. It’s still unsettled. We’ll definitely have five guys ready to play when the game starts.”

I highly doubt they cover the spread. We play well in the first 3 quarters of these games. Tech is struggling to find consistent qb play and their defense can be scored against. It will be somewhere in the 10 to 20 point range like always in these games unless masha lights them up or Evans is the second coming of vick. Tech has 2 dynamic skill players in hodges and Ford bit the qb play could help neutralize them if it remains inconsistent. This is not the tech program from 5 to 10 years ago and even if Fuente is a stud he doesn't have his horses in there yet. Especially on the o line.
