Shuler gave you an automatic 2 points when you needed it and Otis did a lot of the dirty work. Jenkins is streaky and can be stopped. Again, they are very good but not unbeatable.

I agree w/ Winthrop fans to this regard: They are better than last year. See UNC and Wisconsin games. I don't think they are unbeatable however. Liberty knocked them off once last year and this year LU is a good 15 points better. We'll see what happens. The league as a whole is also better. Radford defeating Richmond and another BS victory over Furman come to mind.

yeah, I'd venture to say we're better then 15 points...heck, brew better be droppin 20-25 himself...not to mention our new found post game. We're a completely different team from last year....last year I'd give them a 3 we're a 6 with the potential to go higher

How about the walk-on guard for Winthrop... Kyle Moore, he went 3 for 3 from the 3 pt line and had 4 assists against Wisconsin... He turned down a scholarship from VMI to go walk-on at Winthrop.

Last night VMI scored a big road win against Richmond. Could it be that the Big South owns Richmond this year?!

Manson,

I totally forgot about you on this one man. I owe you big time! I was sitting at courtside on the floor for that one last night. Reggie Williams was sensational and the Holmes Twins were shooting it in during the second half. Murrer and Reggie dunked on guys and there seemed to be more VMI folks there than Richmond. There was a lot of old money sitting around us that is for sure and they were very happy when they left the building. Richmond is young but they are not very good. VMI played well though. They really force tempo with that scramble defense. Richmond just didn't have enough fire power to keep up. The Spiders need a point guard badly IMO. Richmond is very young and cannot handle full court pressure very well. They don't get to run that Princeton offense much when they are being trapped at every turn. Give VMI credit though, they went in there and got a road win. It was pretty fun to watch. Again Manson, I owe you one. I will try to get really good tickets again like that for some A-10 games esp Temple, St Joes and LaSalle since they are all my Philly teams. I could have gone to see VCU and Delaware too but it was at the same time last night. Delaware's coach went to the same school and played on the same teams as I did but he is a few years younger.

that is a huge win for VMI add to the fact that they almost scored 100 points against them 93 to be exact i believe.

That's true. VMI is the leading scoring team in the nation at 102 per game. If you see them play you will know why. They shoot a ton of threes and they get so many more possession with their pressure. I think they forced 25 or more turnovers last night. I gotta get a stat sheet.

does VMI scare anybody else? It seems like our team has the ball handlers and smarts to break a press this year, but I've never ever ever seen a Liberty team do it well. Everytime we've ever been pressed we've turned the ball over A LOT. So this VMI really could kill Liberty teams of the past. I havent seen us take on a full court press this year so I guess we'll find out soon enough.

It's cool SCAR. We were having Christmas with my wife's dad anyways so I wouldn't have been able to check it. Let me know though, I would love to go to another game. You know how much I love college hoops!

P.S. Sorry to hear about your man A.I.!
