What is your favorite home game that you've attended?

What is your favorite away game that you've attended?

What is your favorite game you watched/listened to?

My brain doesn't work well enough to remember but my favorite game attended will have to be the VMI game my freshmen year. We weren't very good and they were even worse and were up pretty big if I remember right. Anyways we came back and won and I just remember having so much fun with the students who actually hung around. It was before the LUnatics so there really wasn't much organization.

We even stormed the field which seems so ridiculous now but at the time it was a ton of fun.

Let's see...favorite home game, I would have to say its a tie between the Richmond game where John Lunsford hit the 60 yard field goal and the VMI comeback in 2003

Favorite away game would be the Coastal game in I think 2008

Favorite game watched/listened to...the JMU win two years ago

Love this question:

My favorite home game was my junior year at good ole LU vs. the highly rated Elon University and we kicked the crap out of them 26-3!

My favorite away game was easily the UNC game two years ago. Even though we lost to the tar-heels holding the lead at the end of the 3rd quarter and seeing the look on most of the student sections faces was priceless.

My favorite game that I watched was none other than Coastal 2 years ago when the block heard around LU happened and we punched our first ticket to the playoffs.

Good question

Favorite game is the VMI homecoming where we came back to win; I think 2004 where Eugene Goodman had the game of his life (I think same game Postman is referencing). We had App against the ropes at our place I think it was 2002 was a close second.

Ive only been to App and JMU away games between 2000-2004 so I'm going to say App for the Boone experience.

Best game watched was the Richmond OT game because I was listening to it online and we don't get cable-only antenna. This Christian station on one of the tv channels was randomly showing the game here in FL and I caught the end of the 4th quarter

For me it's hard to narrow it down to one for each category.

Home game is either PC 07 (the Kelsey Goss game) or CSU 07 when I got a picture with Colin Drafts' girlfriend and we rushed the field. Rocco's first game is up there (flying chicken in a tropical storm) and so is Coastal 07.

Away game is either W&M 07 or G-W 07. In both of those games I felt we took over the crowd even though they were away games. The G-W game was the most meaningful but the entire trip around the W&M game was a blast for me. Other notables here would be WVU 09, Coastal 08, and VMI 08.

Favorite game to watch is definitely Coastal 14. Favorite game to listen to was probably Youngstown 08.

Home game. 2003 VMI. We were down 31-0 at halftime.
Away game. The Georgia State game at the GA Dome.
Watched game. 2014 Coastal. Most improbable blocked field goal I have ever seen.

the VMI game we were down 28-3 and outscored them 28-0 to win, I think all of them were Eugene Goodman TDs with a 2 pont conversion to cap the comeback off

Home Game - Elon. It was over a Thanksgiving break and they were ranked 15th. The thought at the time, was that if we beat them, we would possibly get an at large. Turns out we were on the bubble, and missed the playoffs. Not many Students, and its one of the few games I sat on the front row with the LUnatics.

Away Game - WVU 09. About 20 family members were there for the Mountaineers, I was able to sit front row 50 yard line. I have a picture that I was the only one in red in the sea of blue and gold. Id say it was the game that I dropped any support for family teams, or childhood teams, and starting pulling for LU or bust.

Watch - Coastal14

Listen - This is kind of a crazy story, but I was at UNC to watch a football game. I believe they played GT. That night, the friends I was with wanted to go party. I went to the biggest house party I've ever been too. In attendance were Gerald Henderson, Wayne Ellington, TJ Yates, and several other area athletes. That night, the cops were called because TJ Yates got punched in the jaw. I was underage and several students were getting arrested. Luckily, I wasn't participating in any of the party activities because I had my laptop, and was sitting in the corner of the front yard, listening to Jerry Edwards call LU vs William and Mary. Apparently it was the worst officiating blunder Mr Edwards had ever seen. He was so Tilted. Rashad had a very good night. But the reason this is my favorite, looking back, I realized how much trouble LU football has saved me from.

Great topic.

What is your favorite home game that you've attended?
In the moment, the win over Montana last year was awesome. It felt like we had finally turned the corner. Of course, we later learned that wasn't the case.
The 2013 Coastal and 2014 Richmond 2 OT games were both very entertaining even though they ended in a loss.

What is your favorite away game that you've attended?
The 2014 Coastal win. Can't even describe it.
The win at JMU the next week was fun too.

What is your favorite game you watched/listened to?
Probably the 2014 App State win. The wins at Youngstown and Ball State are pretty close to this as well.

How about the worst away game ever attended?
2 immediately come to mind - the 2007 beatdown at Elon and the loss to Stony Brook in Long Island.

Seeing that from the field and how you owned it was one of the cooler sites of that day.

Elon 07 - that game was so freaking hot. And we got murdered. Horrible day.

Stony Brook 09 - At halftime, I told Chris Lang in the press box that I thought we'd be okay. We just needed to have a few things click. He told me he wasn't so sure. It was the first moment I realized what may be happening. Then the second half didn't get much better. Watching Stony Brook celebrate with the trophy and then having to walk into Rocco's press conference was brutal.

Home: Night games with a packed house are hard to beat. Last season's Montana game stands out to me (great tailgate, awesome seats and a big victory).

Away: Both road wins at App State, in 1997 and 2014. Was at both of those. App was ranked No. 15 in '97, and the '14 game was just a whale of a game.

Listened to: Two memorable finishes, unfortunately both losses. I didn't get to go to the 2012 game at Wake but I was on the road but got into listening range by the fourth quarter and excruciating end; and the nail-biter at Villanova in '14.

Great topic, Jon!

Home Game - Montana - atmosphere was electric
Away Game - JMU playoff with VMI '08 - first away game - and UNC as close 2nds.
Watched - CCU '14 - the block and the jumping and screaming in the family room was epic.
Brutal Game? - at Stony Brook '11 - will never forget Ed Gomes yelling at the guys on the plane to shut up. Sucky feeling when you lose out on playoffs and some of the players were laughing and acting like we had won.

Home Game - Living in Texas, I have missed out on some of the great games you guys have referenced. The 2003 VMI game was phenomenal listening to Jerry as was the victory at Youngstown. Sadly the best home game that comes to my mind was when we rallied at homecoming a few years back to beat a GWU team we had no business trailing.

Away Game - Even though we stunk it up that day, the road game at Montana was probably my favorite road experience. The buzz leading up to the game around Wa-Griz was amazing. If only we could have held on to the ball in the first half.

Watch - This was easily the Chima blocked kick game at Coastal. The emotional highs & lows of the final quarter were a rush.

Scoreboard/Ticker - Back in the days before we could listen or watch to games online, I remember seeing the Eastern Michigan victory flash on ESPN2's ticker and going bonkers. Most of you can't comprehend that being a big deal considering the state of EMU today but it was a massive upset back then.

*EDIT TO MY EARLIER ANSWER*

Away game - Virginia Tech 2016. For as many friends and family as I had in attendance in Morgantown in 09, there will be double that number in Blacksburg September 3rd. I grew up going to all the VA Tech home games with my dad. I watched VICK light up Lane Stadium. I have purchased a camper, that I am in the process of painting RED and BLUE, I have a camp spot reserved, and will be tailgating starting Thursday Night for this game. Although I own zero Tech gear, I still really enjoy when they do well in the ACC, so it will be strange sitting in the visiting section in Lane Stadium. Ill be looking up at my family's season ticket seats with every major play. This game coming up in 5 weeks is going to be epic, win or lose.

This is what makes sports great.

Please post a pic of the new camper when it's completed, this is fantastic! I recently was driving through WV - on my way to PA - and saw a camper-type vehicle that was decked out WVU. It was really something to behold. Made me think how awesome it would be to have something similar but LU.

I wore orange and maroon until I was 18. I have never worn VT apparel since I stepped foot on LUs campus. I am particularly looking forward to my 2nd Lane Stadium experience (1st was over 11 years ago).

The Coastal game two years ago is my #2 favorite game to listen to because hearing libertyradiopxp and Paul go absolutely bat crap crazy when we got that block made it all feel real while I was listening at home in Portsmouth...what's even crazier is a couple days later I was offered the job at Wal-Mart...it felt like everything was going right in my life at that point

Booo. You can't change a post after someone quotes it!

Also, I was one of the few students at the home Elon game over Thanksgiving break too. Close 2nd behind Montana.

I just recently found my ticket stub from the Eastern Michigan game. Put a big smile on my face. I drove from PA to VA to pickup 3 guys, then drove to Michigan for the game all in one weekend. Beating a top 25 ranked 1-A team made quite the college road trip.

I'm only about five years in....so,

Best game I attended was the Coastal game last year because of the way it ended.....awesome indeed!

Best away game....only went to one and that was last year....let's not talk about that.

Best game listened to/watched was App State game year before last.

Hope for some great wins home and away this year!

Favorite away game was Stony Brook a few years back. We lost but it was a very good game. Home favorite would have to be either Richmond two years ago or last years Coastal game.

I'd be tempted to frame that ticket. Us Old Hags enjoy hanging on to our glory days.
