There is a reason why RD (both of them), Delmonico and Dunton haven't had jobs since they left TN/Liberty respectively. It is not for the same reasons for sure. However, one must ask himself why a coach, who was extremely successful in the SEC, went to the CWS three times (I believe) and the playoffs 8-9 times, is not coaching somewhere at a major program. Tennessee has not been successful since he left. Athletics is a tight knit community, word gets around. Some get second chances, many do not. As always IMVVVVHO. 8)
Jeff Meyer. (You've been around long enough. You know the rules!)
I swear PH, you have an alarm set on your phone or something whenever someone breaks that rule.

Sounds like he is really doing his homework on this one and not just jumping at the first big name he has come across his desk...and it also sounds like he is thinking long term with this hire instead of trying to hurry someone in just for recruiting sake.

Can you stop slowing down the process already? We've got tournaments in GA we need to be recruiting.

Coach BJ Williams is what I'm hearing.

Solid Coach. Player's Coach. Very skilled at the fundamentals of the game. Is super aggressive. Has been know to have players steal first on occasion and only play one outfielder and 6 infielders. He doesn't support the conventional starter/reliever strategy - believes in pitching 1 innings at a time - 9 different pitchers each game - provides a team with the sense of team and not individual play.

Has tons of coaching experience, most it the youth rec league level -
7 Years - Crossroads BMW 7 Year old Team
3 Years - Kroger 8-10 year old Team
1 Month - Bojangles 8-10 old Team (Cut short due to applying for Head Football Coach Position at Presbyterian College)
5 Years - Putt Putt and Games Batting Cage Coach
Last 2 years - Southern Air Men's Slow League Assistant Head Coach

In the last 17.1 years has compiled a 23-276 record, but to be complexity fair - 23 wins with the kids he had was a HOF effort.

Congrats Coach BJ!! We here on Flame - wait - _____Nation support you. Go Fla - wait - can we even write Flames, Liberty or LU on here anymore? Go "Team where I used to go to college"!!!

Thanks for the humor proto, bama and pretty...but I am not in a position to put myself out there again. I am going through a very difficult personal season right now and my focus is on working through that and taking care of my sons.

Larry...you need to put down the Red Bull (or whatever is making you jittery) and trust the process. Like I said above, JB is doing his homework and making sure that we have the best candidate for our long term future growth as a program, and not just so we can have someone with an LU on his shirt watching high school players down in GA.

Sounds like he was caught flat footed or his first choice said no

His finalists are click bait. He names Gibson, Scott Jackson (who is already out) Rick Robinson (who doesn't even have a confirmed interview date), Sanfords coach "may" be in the mix, and there are probably some other wildcards out there, and he says stay tuned. It looks nice on Twitter but has no substance.

I think we get someone huge!! I'm not abreast of the situation like most here. But I would like to dream that we get a D1 high end coach that has a little experience... Why else spend that much on the facilities?? :dontgetit : :dontgetit

Jinxy, I know it's pay. Wasn't sure if I was allowed to copy and paste that sort of stuff so I was letting you know exactly what it says. My last post is what he says in the article. Same names and then says few other wild cards.

Regardless of the hire, the benchmark floor for making the NCAA's should be 2/3's of the time from here on out with CCU gone. Repeated tournment appearences should enhance recruiting success. Add player development and hopefully, that will get us to playing consistantly at an elite level in the near future.

Something is definetely going on at mercer with gibson. He applied for LA tech job as well. Doesn't make you feel real good about him until we know some details. Also might mean he was eliminated from our job. Timing wise it's tough to tell since they filled the job so quickly.

Is he looking for a seven figure salary as a baseball coach Jon? There probably aren't a whole lot of coaches outside of the P5 conferences who could command even close to that kind of money
