Yeah. They were playing for a chance at a 1-seed and hosting a regional.

After throwing a career high 137 pitches in his last outing. Has to be concerning if you are pulling for Coastal. I know the kid is a stud, but that is a ton of wear on the arm in a short time frame.

With that side arm delivery, it's not as much wear as you'd think, but it's still a lot of use.

I don't disagree with how the sidearm delivery helps, but 137 is an absurd amount of pitches regardless of arm slot.

He's one of the best in country and it's the biggest single game of his career and in school history. He will be ready. The question is, if he's not able to pitch another full game, whom do they call on in a tight situation in the 8th-9th innings since their best 'closer' threw the highest number of pitches he's ever thrown last night?

I have always heard that sidearm delivery is the natural way to throw the ball, thus not as much wear and tear on the arm as overhand pitching.
