Speaking of indoor facilities, the indoor track is taking shape below the monogram. Here's a write-up from the nation's premiere high school T&F website. This thing is kind of a big deal and it looks like I'll be there for the first meet.

The amenities in this thing are basically a dream come true for track nerds. I can't wait to see it completed!

This is the company building the trampoline park in the old Dollar Theater. Big article about them in The Champion. They have other locations in Cville and VA Beach.

Someone was asking about the graves the other day but I don't remember which thread it was.

I saw an update in the N&A.

In documents filed in Lynchburg Circuit Court this month, Liberty asks the court to deny the Moorman family’s exhumation request because it would “require the use of Liberty’s property outside of the bounds of the memorial area,” constituting a “temporary taking of private property.”

The new natatorium has been announced! They say it will one of the top natatoriums on the East Coast. They have a run for the money with Georgia's facility being an amazing one. I have mixed emotions about the design and the location. I am just thankful that they are finally pulling the trigger and building a facility for a solid program that needs this to get even better. Coach Shellenberger has done a lot with very little and I am excited what he will do with that program once he has this as a recruiting tool!

That is funny stuff but I can't laugh because it could happen:)

The facility looks a lot like the layout of George Mason's facility, though the stands on both sides of the 25 yd competition pool is an upgrade over what GMU has.

The article mentioned a bulkhead, but the pictures don't show it. I'm wondering if the bulkhead is going to be moveable so as to provide a clear separation in the pool when it's in the short-course configuration.

I forgot to post about this...

Nearly all of the dorm circle buildings have now been torn down or are in the process. The two story building in the middle (13?) is underway. The one across from 7 (6?) is being gutted. It looks like 7 will be last... There appears to be a few residents.

Two years ago, Dorm 13 housed the science labs until the new science building was completed; last fall & spring, Dorm 13 housed the English Dept. offices, but this summer the English faculty were relocated to the 4th floor of DeMoss.

from the .edu site, photo is circa 1988

Image

this is exactly how I remember LU: SAGA, Schools of Education, Science, Music, radio data station, and a one story DeMoss

Liberty Gym, the ravine with wooden steps, new Hanock bldg and brand new David's Place behind it

Guard shack, yellow hill dorms and trashy circle dorms. Thats about it.

no on campus football field, no softball, no arena.

we did have the courtyard with flags from every state, and the fountain. With and w/o soap.
