I believe the new model for these multi-use shopping areas IS outdoor, broken-up shops.

they're tearing down the 80's styles mega-malls like crazy up here and converting them to outdoor stuff. Evidently more consumer friendly :?

wave of the future, I suppose.

The weather is backing up that idea right now. Wave of the future, indeed.

I'd wonder if it contributes to more serious shopping as opposed to being a teen hangout. If a shopping area has too many teens the adult population shops elsewhere making the mall a very expensive daycare for teens.

If you couldn't resist you should seek out counseling.

That is sooo funny!

As far as the arena... the dorms on the circle are coming down and that seems to be the ideal spot for a new building. I have always liked the idea of putting it near David's Place because of the parking and easy access to 460 (on and off.)

Your correct at one level...River Ridge Mall is in trouble and will be up for sale in the distant future and LU is already putting some heads together to ambush this once it's up for grabs...it still doesn't look like the new arena will go there though...and 18k is on the short end of what it prob will seat

I see a Sky-bridge in the future, or maybe a Mono-rail system connecting the 5,000 room Campus West complex with Main Campus.

I think the mall idea is a fantastic idea. The possibilities are endless with the amount of space, parking etc. Do you think it would have a negative impact on basketball attendance for students, being "off campus"? I think it would help community attendace, just because of the easy access. I imagine people do not come to the vines just becasue of the parking issues, but would come if it were in the mall area.
Although, if they work it into the shuttle service on campus, that may help students get to the arena.
