I was surprised to see that some LCA players signed with Richmond, JMU and some other school. They should have signed with LU, (if LU extended an offer)

ballcoach, if you were in charge of LU recruiting every player on our roster would be from within an hour or two of campus. Not every LCA kid is going to be a fit for us. Not every Heritage or EC Glass or William Byrd or Northside or GW Danville or Jefferson Forest player is going to be a fit for us (Speaking of JF, one of their players will be a preferred walkon for us at center according to the News and Advance)

For the :oldhag :oldhag here, with two 3-star and four 2-star recruits, has LU ever had a similarly ranked recruiting class?

Fair enough Cider...my point is, we can't just be signing local kids BECAUSE they are local kids. If we are gonna pursue somebody, they better be able to play AND be better than (or have the potential to be better than) who we already have as far as recruits and/or current players at the position

The philosophy is much different than Danny R.

Walt Aikens, Vince Redd, Rashad Jennings, Kent Hicks, Alex Stadler, (QB from South Carolina) , Asa Chapman. - I am missing several I am sure.

That is a pretty good list of impact players that transferred in from a higher level D1. Gill is missing out on using Liberty as a place for second chances for some of these high level players. Walt and Rashad are our best players in the NFL currently, seems like that is our best selling point to incoming players. "Come to LU and dominate and you will have a chance at the NFL"

Anyone know why Gill isn't using the transfers to bolster his recruiting classes ? Will Johnson is the only one I can think of that has seen the field, and that was due to injury.

Didn't we have a running back from Memphis or somewhere who didn't pan out?
Perhaps it's just a philosophical thing.

We have had RBs from both UVA and Marshall in the last few years who did not work out. Fact is, not as many FBS playera are. transferring to FCS programs as there were a few years ago. The trend is to go to another FBS and sit a year.
