HOUSTON - Refugio senior lineman Christian Mascorro made no promises to his teammates at halftime of Thursday's Class 2A, Division I state championship game at NRG Stadium.
He just told it like it was with the Bobcats trailing Canadian 31-7.
"I didn't lie to them; I didn't say we're going to come back no matter what. I was honest," Mascorro said. "I said, 'You know what, we needed to play as hard as we can, and whatever the outcome, it's fine because at least we know we played as hard as we could.'"
