Macon showed enough promise for us to be comfortable with him being the lead back next season. His 8-81 game against Kennesaw State was a glimpse of what he can do.

Woodrum really opened up some things in the running game when we went to the option; here's hoping to us having a QB that can continue to develop some aspects of that in the future.

We will really get to see that in the spring with Masha and Yearick (when is the first day of classes for the spring semester...unless he is enrolled in an intensive?). To be able to successfully run the option, you need to have a QB who has the speed to get to the edge, the patience to know when to pitch and when to keep, and linemen who are athletic enough to be able to set the edge before the defense can.

You can do a lot with a QB who can run. Look at the success of Navy for the last several years. Besides running the traditional option, you can run the zone read, QB draws and most Importantly, scramble.

Manson and the boys just posted some news that could be a game changer just before spring ball AND signing day.

Well if what they posted from FootballScoop is correct...he will be having to worry about something COMPLETELY different this fall

The news BJ is referring to is Jamal Fobbs leaving for Tulane.

Not a big deal IMHO, and in fact we can go a couple of directions and upgrade. Look at coaches for both RB and WR. If the best guy out there is a RB coach, we are set. If he is a WR coach, we just slide Ron Brown over to coach the RBs, which is where he has the most experience and I suspect he prefers.

I think it could be a game changer because of the fact that, if we bring a new coach in, Todd being the 2016 starter may not be as open and shut as it may have looked heading into the offseason

Macon would have had the edge with or without the coaching change because he is the only one with game experience, but I didn't see him as having a lock on the job. I'm pretty sure Gill chooses the starting lineup anyway.
