I like the height...he would be the tallest receiver we have had since Summers. Forbidden, what's your scouting report?

def like his picture looks like a another big WR to have in this stable. You start getting big like this on the outside you start looking like the Arizona Cardinals and all there big WR's

Major recruiting win for the staff! This kid certainly will have a chance to come in and play right away, and be a bigtime (no pun intended) target for whoever the QB is for us

Ill say this, People can talk all they want about HCTG but yall better hold on tight cuz there is something special about to be up on this mountain. They are setting up to be even better for the future years to come

Huge/Big get for the program. When you can get big like this that makes teams respect you. Now they need to find someone who can take the top of the defense. I see quicks, I see shifty, I see possession style, but str8 line should be up next

I LOVE his video. Lot's to like, but the things that stood out to me is that he is a BEAST after the catch and not afraid to use his size to block either. It's hard to judge speed in HS highlights because you don't know how slow the opponent may be, but he didn't get caught from behind much and on one play on kickoff coverage he closed a lot of ground to make the tackle on the KR, who is usually a fast guy.

I think Shell can be that guy. He just needs to stay healthy and be more consistent.

Already know about Shells, but he is a Senior on the way out, im talking about for future coming in, but for one year I see some things for sure

you have:

Shells King Parker Farrow
some real completion with the new kids coming in for back up roles, and trust me when I say if you have been here for awhile and really haven't contributed, I could see one of these freshmen taking some spots and passing whats already here. If its close they RS if not they are going to play

We saw some of that last year, with quite a few Freshmen we thought would be redshirting seeing a lot of snaps (ie. Will Brown and Juwan Wells.

I'm also pretty upbeat about the future forbidden. Excited to see what this group of WRs can do with a new QB. It's no secret I'm not a Woodrum fan. Forget the stupid stuff he said, I personally think he underperformed on the field. When I look at what Masha did in 2 games against tough opponents with ZERO experience, I just think a guy who was a "4 year starter 3 year captain" who supposedly has NFL potential (lol) should have accomplished more.

PS: If Woodrum ends up making an NFL roster, I will gladly :bowdown , eat crow, and give him his props. It would be a GREAT thing for LU. I am not holding my breath.

Lets be honest here, if he makes a roster that would be great for LU as a school, but lets remember the same way a lot of kids on D1 rosters are really not that, the same can be said of people that are on NFL rosters, and I can speak from experience

Now that I think about it, I think an even better comparison for this kid is the guy whose records Petey broke this year, Chris Summers. He looks like he would beat most DBs (definitely the smaller ones) to the 50-50 balls, has excellent concentration and I love the physicality on the blocking as well

I don't think we've had a receiver like him. He looks like he's more physical than summers with the same type athleticism and he's bigger than Petey. He's a long strider which I like. I'm with forbidden, shells might be on the pine with harvey and golden coming on with parker farrow and king in the stable already. He almost looks like he could grow into a tight end where he would be an impossible match up.

Some would say the highest level in all of high school football. Colquit County (6-A)-mythical national champion.

The FIRST thing tht stood out after seeing his height was why only 4 TD's on the year as his stats indicate, big target can win some 50/50 but sort of disappears in redzone unless matchup on smaller DB so he does his damage from prolly 35 yds on out, decent speed. At the end of the day tho you can't teach height especially when AVG DB's are standing like 5'9 - 5'10 which imo is only good up to about a WR at about 6'1 or so after that unless the DB is a DAWG it can cause matchup problems. Better that he is on our side than us trying to figure out how to stop him.

At some point he can possibly prove himself by going up against #39 Chris Turner in practice 6'3 vs 6'4. And to be honest ill give the at the LOS advantage to this kid str8 outta HS,(not CT's strong suit) but CT is better at some zone defense and using his length that way down the field. Will be interesting for sure.

There could be quite a few factors as to why he didn't get a whole lot of action in the red area, so I wouldn't put a ton into that. I think he would get his number called an awful lot on 50-50 fade routes in the corner at his height.

Id love to see him and CT go one on one in training camp. Working with bigger DBs like him will help him out immensely.

THERE is NO factor in HS football that if you want to win you don't throw the ball to a 6'4 inch kid that again on the norm is playing against even smaller DB's prolly ranging from 5'8 to 5'11. Someone said earlier because think about it at 6'4 he would have a TON of offers, if he was SUPER dominant. Im not going to knock the kids for making the most of whatever opportunities he was given but...Bottom line is he now wants to become a flame and try and set the workld on fire lets just hope no one has any extinguishers.
#502281
Agreed on the latter...regardless of what happened his senior year, apparently HCTG (or whoever was the coach that recruited him) and that le to him being extended an offer, and he decided to accept the offer.

On the former, it really comes down to playcalling. Personally, Id be throwing him the ball the vast majority of the time, particularly from 10 yards and in because he clearly looks like he would win that matchup against just about anyone. Im not his coach or his OC, but that is what Id do. Hopefully we get pen to paper on signing day so Coach Dailey can find ways to utilize him in his first year as OC
