Heritage defensive back Larandale Lee plans to visit Liberty University in the next few weeks and is likely to accept the Flames' scholarship offer, Hurricanes coach Jason Robinson said Wednesday.
Robinson said that LU coach Danny Rocco called Lee, a first-team All-Peninsula District pick, Tuesday afternoon and made the offer. Lee also has been recruited by James Madison and has drawn "light interest," Robinson said, from N.C. State.
Lee finished with 57 tackles, including three for a loss of yards, nine interceptions and two forced fumbles. He had not played football until his junior year. Robinson was his teacher in biology class and recruited him.
"He and Liberty University are a great fit," Robinson said. "He was our best defensive player this year, and his skills will allow him to compete right away for playing time."
Rocco continues to recruit the commonwealth well. to get a player from the beach is a good find, and it is an area where we used to recruit quite well.
