Didn't see the game, we didn't get that channel on Holland America!!! But here are some thoughts from reading the thread:
1) Kel Varson. I am impressed with your bball acumen. Nice to see some common "non biased" basketball talk. I will point out that while ONE way to bust a zone is to shoot your way out of it, the other, and currently more acceptable strategy is to REBOUND your way out of it. Rebounding out of a zone is a difficult thing to do. You see more teams abandoning a zone b/c they can't stop the 2nd shots. IF we had the athletic advantage we supposedly had THAT should have been our strategy
2) Refs. Didn't see em, don't know em, but I am fairly certain everyone knows my thoughts. I did see they were 'awful both ways' which in not a bad thing. Most coaches would rather have you be consistent than right
3) Terry Falwell yelling at the officials? Jerry talking bad about them?? Shocked I say SCHOCKED. Next someone will tell me there is gambling at Rick's place (movie reference anyone)
4) Dunton swearing?? (See above)
5) Free throw differential is a red herring. Kel is right. If your team is playing aggressive M2M and the other team zone, and YOU are jacking up threes, you don't really give the other team an opportunity TO foul you. For instance, had a game last week, foul count was 10 - 2 in the second. The team that had commited only two fouls was getting wide open lay ups. The game was close but the foul count never was. And the team that commited MORE fouls, actually one.
6) SCAR For a moment I thought you were posting YOUR shooting stats.
