I admitted that I could have been misreading the situation. Given Liberty's track record, I'm not inclined to give them the benefit of the doubt at this point.
So LU is guilty until proved innocent? Got it. Just want to make certain that is what you are saying.

No. I'm just giving the benefit of the doubt to the aggrieved party in this situation.

Conditional use permit signs have popped up again. There is one at the entrance to Askew Lot (just above wingate), one at road to LUCOM, and one by hockey stadium. These all went up yesterday.

There's also one right in front of Doc's Diner where I park.

And lots of digging over by where the Tower is going in. And they are bricking the back side of the DeMoss addition and putting the roof on.

It costs a lot of money to make playable ice outdoors. I'd imagine it'd be even more problematic in the South.

You're getting good a stirring up stuff for clicks. Combine this with you guys paying Josh for free publicity and this place is a gold mine! :)

All of the new signs that I saw around campus are a notice of rezoning, I'm guessing, to the new classification Lynchburg created for the colleges in town. They seem to be at prominent places and intersections along the border of campus, LCA, and TRBC. I saw them outside Williams, grass lot next to Extended Stay, corner across from Macados, TRBC parking lot, and along LU property on 460 east. Maybe there are other signs indicating coming new construction, but these all seemed to be rezoning signs.

BuryYourDuke wrote:Club? Yup. For now. But that term is kind of outdated when you refer to men's acha d1. The funding and practices of many programs has started to blur the lines. Liberty is at the front of that pack.
Blurring the lines between what? Club hockey and NCAA D-I?????

I am well aware of the fact that the hockey team is club. In fact, I am one of the ones who loathes the people who say "there are more hockey fans than football fans" or "hockey is a bigger sport than football" or "the hockey team is better/more exciting than the football team". It's annoying really. They are club and probably will never be NCAA because of Title 9.

With that said, the Winter Classic is a trend and there is an undeniable amount of support for LU hockey - regardless of classification. There would be a major turnout from the city and and students because it would be marketed well and people would get involved due to the experience it would create. It's an interested idea and I'm sure the university would back it because of the support it would receive.

I wouldn't necessarily agree with that. There are about 500 "Die Hard" hockey fans compared to about 3,000 "Die Hard" football fans - I'm referring exclusively to students. All others are social attenders for both sports.

I haven't been on campus in a long, long time so I can't have a real argument. All I was really saying is that I think that is what they mean.

Though at this stage I don't think that is really the case, a few years ago an argument could be made though.
