I think he's ok with the chanting/cheering, but not the PA music.

I pay very little attention to chants. Saturday I did not hear them, other than the "hey hey good by one near end of game. I watch the game and try to block out all distractions.

Can we just forget about how overrated some of the other teams in the polls may be for a moment and talk about the LIBERTY FLAMES are in the TOP FREAKING 10!!!!

I believe this is the highest Liberty has been ranked since entering 1-AA/FCS if my memory serves me accurately, unless someone can go digging in the SID/AC archives and find something higher

Thanks for that bit of information Chippy. Depending on how the teams above us do, we may eclipse that with a win on Saturday night

Not only would it be sweet, the winner of that match-up would be playing for home games all the way to the championship game.

that thought is very exciting. if both us and coastal win out the winner could possibly be the #1 seed in the playoffs. Just 2 or three years ago if anyone suggested that would be a possibility within 5 years be laughed at by even our biggest homers.

think about that. we have the chance, for the first time in program history to not just win a playoff game or two, but an honest shot at homefield advantage all the way to Frisco. i dont think that attendance record on saturday will be the only record we break this year.

To amend what I said in another thread, in order to get to 10-1, we have to get to 4-0 this next 4 weeks, and in order to get to 4-0, we have to go 1-0 4 times, and to do it 4 times, we first have to do it this weekend.

All that is brilliant, except going 10-1 would require going 8-0 over the next 8 weeks, and in order to get to 8-0, we have to go 1-0 8 times, and to do it 8 times, we first have to do it this weekend.

Can you imagine how awesome it would be to have a top 5 matchup to close out the season!! If you thought the top 15 matchup this past weekend was fun...just wait!!!

Proud to see the Flame crack the top 10!!! Hoping we continue to climb the ladder!!

My point is miss Lawrence, we can think all the grandiose visions we want (#1 seed, national championship contention, etc.) but our guys need to take it 1 game at a time. our focus this week, Southern Illinois. none of the rest of that stuff matters if we lose this weekend

The last two posts have been a lot of coach speak nonsense.

The season isn't over if we lose on Saturday.

Your sarcasm is duly noted postie...

We're fans (and armchair quarterbacks and coaches) so of course we're going to envision being ranked in the top 5 with Coastal, 25,500 red clad Liberty fans (and 500 or so teal clad Coastal fans) packing Williams Stadium for the ESPNEWS game in November, top 4 national seeding, planning a trip to Texas for the NC game in January, and any number of things. the players canNOT allow themselves to do that, the coaches canNOT allow them to do that. we got all big headed last year and Indiana State came in with a needle and popped that balloon to the tune of 38-19. we need to take each week as a 1 game season and to some that may sound like "coachspeak nonsense", but that keeps the players focused on what's in front of them and with as good as things are right now, even with the issues that have come up each game, that needs to be their mindset.

Maybe I'm a bad fan, but I personally hope that Chuck South beats Coastal, and they come in here with us in the top 5 and them barely in the top 25, with no hope of a playoff birth, and we beat them like a cheap drum.

But were we really big headed or could it have been that Indiana State was simply better, on that day. Ive heard you say that a couple of times about how ISU popped our bubble per say.
