Its a real roll of the dice when you flip your commitment from one school to another and this is a fine example of why. He flipped to JMU, then the coach that got him there got canned and so with the lateness of the process, he didnt have as many options because a lot of your major D1 scholarships (FCS or FBS) are now pretty much spoken for so you end up with for lack of a better way of putting it, the dregs to choose from. My guess is that when Withers was brought in, he didnt think that the fit that was there when MM was the coach was there anymore so he went back on the trail.

Or it could be the biggest factor. They may have wanted Ervin, then when a better option came along, they went after it. That's college sports. You took Coaching Football. You should know that.

I did...good times...we would have to know the philopsophy/mindset to really say for sure whether he (Ervin) was on their radar as soon as the new staff came in but its certainly possible. I doubt it but its possible

Well, that didn´t last long. No explaination why at this point, but after a Freshman year where he started 9 games, including a 17-0 loss to the Flames, Terrance is leaving Norfolk State.

When he faced us it was only the second game of the year and his first start as a true Fr. Not sure you can judge him too harshly for that. I have no idea if they may have brought in someone better, but apparently last year he was the best they had.

If he had come to Liberty he would be our 3rd string QB this year. Considering the fact that our 3rd stringer now is walkon Bo Swanson, that would probably, but not certainly be an upgrade. I´ve never seen Bo play, but I do hear he has a strong arm, as you would expect from a kid his size.

He´s not even in Masha´s league as far as athleticism is concerned, and he would be a R-Fr with zero game experience vs the guy who QB´d the biggest win in our history.

guess your really cutting him no slack and your basis can only be from the head to head contest we had. I know NSU may not have been the greatest but he did have to beat someone out and also continue to do something right to stay on the field. I would like to know that in the limited playing time that Masha has had that with the same coaching from coaches, there is no way you can say he couldn't have done same thing. biggest thing I can say is maybe he doesn't like any competition and he left NSU because of it.

Actually, in saying Ervin would have been behind Masha, I was not taking anything he did last year into consideration, because if he had gone to Liberty he would have redshirted. He played quite a bit for NSU because they were a really bad offensive team and didn´t have anyone better. He completed like 54% of his passes against mostly weak competition in the MEAC. Masha´s 2 games were against a quality opponent in CCU and the number one team in the country. He completed 64% and threw for 5 TDs. If our defense had done even a decent job of stopping the run against CCU, he would have gone 2-0.

Thats my whole thing, alot of people at one time were saying its possible bradwell could come in and surplant Masha as the 2 and move him to slot, there is nothing saying that Ervin couldnt have done the same thing, with better coaching he would have received here, and Bradwell wouldn't have even been an option here.

Im sure looking back Ervin probably wishes he was here, the staff never would have gone after Bradwell who it seems wasted his time and opportunity on the mtn while here.
