I wouldn´t be surprised to see more Nebraska kids coming to the mountain in the future with both Gill and Brown having such a great history with the Huskers. The kids themselves may or may not be that familiar with them, but their parents certainly are.

According to my unofficial "team needs" thread, we lose 3 OL to graduation following the 2015 season, and Grant Jones is not on the roster anymore, so unofficially we "need" 4 OL and I believe this commit puts us at 2 for the 2016 class

I'm Aidan's dad. My wife and I visited this weekend with Aidan and I want to say how honored we are to be a part of the Flames family! OF course playing for the group of Nebraska legend coaches was our initial draw but as we walked around not only the football facilities but the campus, Aidan turned to me and told me he didn't care if Iowa or Ohio State called him, he's playing here!! He said he has struggled more with the decision of what to have for lunch than he did on whether he should attend Liberty. We look so forward to being Flames!!! Thanks Flame Nation! And a special thanks to Coaches Gill, Wagner, Brown, Dailey, Stamm, Gillespie, Dr Gomes and to you Kettie for keeping it all rolling! You made us feel not only welcome but like we were already a part of the family! We can't wait to see Aidan in the Flames uniform and let me mention this......we have 3 more football players at home!!! GO FLAMES!!

We love it when parents check in here. Especially if they have a houseful of potential prospects still at home!

Have the coaches said anything about redshirting Aidan? For an OL, playing as a true FR is rare. I can only remember one in the last 10 years or so, and they definately ended up regretting that decision.

Nothing has been said about redshirting him. I hope they do. Truly, he is just now hitting his growing spurt. I anticipate him showing up next spring somewhere in the 6'4"+ 320lb range. He is 295 right now. He is really hoping they let him come to school in the first week of June because he's ready to get to work! He has 3 brothers still at home. 2 of them will be receivers and d-ends and one is a lineman. He is 11yrs old and is 4" taller now and thicker than Aidan was at this age! If anyone sees Aidan on campus for his official visit this fall or sees him walking around during the spring, his nickname is "Big Chooch"!

I love seeing Dads come on here and get to know the LU community. Chooch made an incredible decision that will bless him for a lifetime.

Consider yourself welcome to continue filling us in on your son and also diving into all of the football discussions.

Thanks! Our only regret from the weekend was that we left our 15 yr old daughter at home and she didn't get to see the campus. We would love for her to go there too! She's a cheerleader and we think it would be cool for her to get to cheer for the same team Chooch plays for!

So we have a chooch and a diesel in our line commits so far...this could be a real fun group for pxp to talk about for 4-5 years

Hopefully we can soon add ¨Buckshot¨ to the nickname list!

From a fellow Nebraska native welcome and congrats on your son's big decision! Hopefully it wasn't too hard to sell a Nebraska fan of your generation with Gill and Brown on staff. Now if we can just get them to play Sirius when they run out...

PS. Omaha has a decent connection into Lynchburg via American but don't be afraid to do Roanoke and Charlottesville both are easy drives.

Welcome, Mr. Burroughs!

Congrats to you and your family on Aidan's earning of a scholarship to play football at Liberty. It's an exciting time to be a Flames fan and LU supporter. God is blessing the school and there are great days to come in the future.

I pray for health and safety for Aidan during the upcoming football season and hope that he has an awesome senior year in high school. It sounds like you have an athletic family and keeping up with all the games and practices is a challenge, I'm sure. Good health and God bless you all!

Thanks for the airline advice! I didn't even realize that Lynchburg had an airport until we had already purchased tickets to fly into Charlotte. Thank you all for the warm welcome and prayers. We are SO excited to be Flames!!

And you're right, the Nebraska connection with these legends certainly doesn't hurt! They are TOP SHELF coaches but more than that, they are men of God. I would say that LU should expect more Nebraska kids in the future.

We are really excited to see game day atmosphere. We are flying into Fayetteville to pick up our son stationed at Fort Bragg and bring him with us. He doesn't even know that Aidan has committed yet. He is going to be jacked!
