If all is going as planned, we have made a formal offer and he is praying with his family about whether this is the right move. And it is not as cut & dried as some are suggesting. Salary is just one of several significant considerations that his family is weighing.

No Jesus Juke at all. He wouldn't have come up to Lynchburg if he weren't very serious about the position. But when it comes down to making a decision, there are additional circumstances that are playing into whether it a good time for them to move.

No news is probably good news at this point. As others have mentioned already - they have probably made the offer and Hoffman's taking time to talk things over with his family and those he trusts. I'd imagine it's going to be hard to leave Mercer with his connection to the Mercer president.
