If you want to talk ASUN smack or ramble ad nauseum about your favorite pro or major college teams, this is the place to let it rip.

Sounds like I need to keep it the way it is huh? I gotta tell you I am still disappointed that he and I aren't doing Liberty games together. I thought it was a great pairing for LFSN. We had great chemistry.

BTW Dave Armstrong and me had the #1 play on SC Top 10 tonight! Dennis Mavin's half court heave. I want to hear the call though. SC didn't really have our sound up. Dave was pitch perfect on the call as usual.

Honestly, I haven't had the opportunity to watch you on ASN yet. I thought both you and Nick were fantastic on LFSN though. Sometimes I think Liberty just gets bored and just starts firing people. I think this will be a situation in 10-15 years where LU fans will look back and say, "We had both of those guys broadcasting for us?!" You and Nick are going places.

I have a rather complicated story about Liberty and how it affected my broadcast career (though not in the way it affected SCAR by any means)

The short version is I was actually supposed to get a chance to broadcast club sports on the new network but apparently that was forgotten while I was writing

Well this has been an unbelievable journey. I actually rode back from Birmingham to Atlanta sitting next to the Executive Producer. We had a great conversation about the future. They were so pleased with my performance this week. CUSA brass sent me a kind email today as well. I have even had personal phone calls from some Refs telling me that they think I am one of the best in the business. Dave Armstrong worked with me this week and it was the 1st time in 28 years that he wasn't covering the Big 12 Tournament. But he said he had a blast. He considers me a good friend and the best he has ever worked with! It is just overwhelming really. The guys at ASN think I won't be with them next year. I told them nobody has my number. They assured me that my phone would be ringing. I'm not holding my breath. Truthfully, keeping my day job and doing this a few months a year sounds perfect to me. I don't know if I even want to do this full time to be honest.

Liberty gave me an opportunity to develop and hone my skills to this level and I am grateful for the 11 years they allowed me to do it. But what a blessing this year has been! I got to meet and know a lot of really good coaches too. CUSA and Atlantic 10 are really good mid-major leagues. I hope to be around them for many years to come. CAA too. Thanks to CAA Deputy Commissioner Ron Bertovich for going to bat for me and acting as my defacto Agent. #LiveOn ASN (yes I know hash tags don't work in this medium SJ) :P

Don't be shy about accepting the CUSA West invitations next year. That way I can meet up with you for Rice games.

I agree that your good work will get you noticed for other posssibilties. Having some of the veteran PxP guys speaking on your behalf will go a VERY long way in getting you more work. EPs love low maintenance guys who can bring some energy to their telecasts. Let's face it, if you could make some of the LU hoops seasons of the past decade worth watching, you have earned your stripes.

And if any of them ask who is your agent, just drop my name. I'll be happy to sell your skills.

Gleason told me to shop for an agent. I think he meant go to Flamefans and get Sly fox :D No really man you are hired. Once I get a name of a decision maker at some of the other places I will let you know. Work your magic. As for CUSA West, I will be in all the venues next year. Dave Armstrong already told me he wants to do at least one game with every CUSA team. My man Mike Rhodes is the head coach at UTSA so I have to go see him. Tim Floyd at UTEP took a liking to me as well so I would love to spend some time with him in Mexico. I…I…Mean El Paso. I will get to pick my schedule next season I would guess. Plus we will have way more games available. My issue will be volume of games balanced with my day job or doing enough games that I could quit my day job. Or getting under contract with one of the big boys so I can quit my day job. Really though I haven't heard anything that makes me want to quit my day job at this point. I have a really good job with great benefits and I work from home everyday I want to or I can go into the office that is 5 minutes away. Plus I report directly to one of the CEO's of the company. Not sure I want to give up that situation.

Welcome to my dilemma. You have to be prepared to make adjustments as the opportunities arise.

And for the record, you want no part of Juarez while in El Paso. bozlady & CJ's wife can vouch for my advice. People cross the border and don't make it back.

We all received a really nice email from CUSA Associate Commissioner and the Commissioner saying how pleased they are with the partnership with American Sports Network and how they look for the relationship to continue even further. I am hoping we get the entire conference tournament next year. We are the only people to give the conference a dedicated halftime show during their tournament games. We don't jump around the country and talk about bubble teams and #1 and #2 seeds. We talked about them and they loved it.

Next year I am hoping to hand pick my schedule which I don't think will be a problem. From what I understand the Atlantic 10 will probably up our exposure to their league too. I got all but 1 of those games this season and they were very pleased as well.

The ASN Studio will be done by May. I suspect I will get some in-studio work next season! All this is dependent on whether or not the big boys come knocking on my door. At this point I am more than happy to stay with ASN. We all had so much fun and the production value was top notch. Quality of life is important to me. I don't know if I want the stress of an ESPN. Stay tuned.

West Palm Beach, Florida! I have no desire to live there though. I don't think they will be asking me either. I am best used at game sights in my humble opinion though I can be solid in the studio as an Analyst. If Mateen Cleaves can do it... :P

If you thought NOVA was overpriced, WPB/Jupiter takes it to the next level. I agree that your skill set is best applied courtside.

Yeah when I did games down there I hung out with Chaz Richardson and one of his friends in his friends' gated community house. I can't imagine that he paid less than a million for that place. It was NICE!

SCAR - I caught at least parts of about ten ASN broadcasts this year, including a couple of yours. I was very pleasantly surprised at the quality of the broadcasts. I only wish you were on all of them, haha.
