That's what I remember. And Doc surfing the crowd.

I sometimes use multiple periods (no BJ, they are not an ellipsis, which by definition consists of exactly 3 dots) when I want to indicate a pause for which I do not deem a comma to be sufficient. No, it's not correct punctuation, but it does not totally change the meaning of a word like an incorrectly inserted apostrophe does. Barber has not hired the belongings of either Rocco or Gill. An aposiopesis is something entirely different, where a thought is abruptly broken off.

That's the harsh reality of Low-Major basketball. 25-7 overall and 16-0 in conference and they are going to the NIT. If not for the NIT autobid for regular season champions who don't win their conference tourney they might be looking at the CIT. Delaware State must match up well with them. They lost by one point in Durham in their only regular season matchup. Their 6'10" Center is one of the nation's leading rebounders and had a 30 rebound game a while back.

Several reasons I don't want us to go in this direction.......... this is just another one. Very classless for the school to do this. Kentucky................................ maybe.

So, the Athletics Communications guys at NCCU did some trash talking and ended up with a major case of foot-in-mouth disease. It's a low-budget Athletics Dept. Not everybody has pros like Wetmore and Co. handling those things. Do you actually think the coach signs off on every release those guys make?

If you don't think coaches have input on press releases then you really don't know much about how things are done. Moton could've killed that press release right after it went out.

I haven't heard that in a long time. I have had it. But have not heard it :D

Good Lord. The guy just lost ONE game...a game that will prevent his team from making the NCAA tournament. He didn't write that release. Give him a break. This is why conference tournaments are stupid.

I'm not banging on him for losing a game. That stuff happens. I just didn't like the press release at all.

He didn't release it. He didn't write it. Even if he does have power over it, he may not even know about it right now. If I had just lost a game that ended my season, I would turn off every piece of technology in my house and just spend time with my family.

I apologize...I must have misread it. Even then, he isn't the one who wrote it. While he certainly has say in what is and isn't said, I guarantee you he isn't reading every statement before it's released. He has a team to coach.

This. If Moton read it at all it was almost certainly after the fact. What's he going to do then? Throw his AC guys under the bus and put out another release blaming them and apologizing? Not going to happen, especially in a HBCU environment where smack talk between schools is part of the game. He may or may not have taken a walk to the AC office and let them know he doesn't need them providing bulletin board material for opponents.

Let's face it. Turning around a dumpster fire program with limited resources, 75 wins in the last 3 years with bids to the NCAA and NIT the last 2 and a great reputation in his community all don't mean jack squat. SJ has a friend at a school where he interviewed who says he is all flash because he talked to a guy who talked to a guy who talked to the AD, and says the AD was not impressed. Take him off the list.

Since 2 of our coaching candidates are Michigan assistants, I'm curious to know; are the Wolverines even eligible for an NIT bid with a 16-16 record? It seems to me they changed the rule a while back to say you had to have a winning record after a few .500 teams got in and some flack was raised, but I'm not sure. Might not get one even if they are, and I wonder if they would accept it. If they are not in the post season, our timetable could be moved up.

Considering the fact that (at least for me) one of the biggest negatives for Meyer is his age, it occurred to me that we could try to do a 2-fer and hire Jordan as Associate HC and "coach in waiting", with the idea he would take over as HC after completion of a 5 year contract for Meyer (who would be 66). Just a crazy thought.

SJ postulated a similar scenario earlier in this thread. The problem is that I don't see him moving from an assistant at Michigan to an assistant at LU. My guess is that we would get one or the other if we were looking toward Ann Arbor. And I am not sure if we are.

It's a long shot for sure. We would have to sweeten the pot for Jordan with a higher than normal salary and perhaps some limited autonomy normally not granted an assistant, along with a firm agreement from Jeff to step down at a predetermined time.

Matthew Driscoll from N Florida has been mentioned as a possibility. His resume is quite attractive, and meets the profile we are looking for. Not sure how he would fit in culturally.

BTW, just saw a picture of the Mountain West court in Las Vegas, has to be the ugliest I have ever seen, by a wide margin.

Obviously you never saw LU's "basketball in hell" court design in the late 90s. I wish I could find a picture of it.
