It was suppose to be JMU if I remember correctly.

What a cowardly thing to do. If the shoe was on the other foot PH I would be critical of us for doing it.

The silver lining is they have wasted a lot of money on us lately. Haha

I was looking for the Homecoming date yesterday morning, and I couldn't find one published on either the football schedule of the alumni webpage.

Personally, I'm hoping for the October 24 weekend, to align with the first weekend of hockey at the renovated LaHaye Ice Center.

You have to ask though, do you want to start with 8 straight games or finish with 8 straight including the (possible) Big South championship game in Lynchburg.

Absolutely not. But I also didn't want JMU to pull out of the September 26 game. Now we're left with nearly every other school's schedule being set. I imagine that may dictate which open date a new opponent will fall on. Prefer September 26, though.

God help us if we choose the date on which to play a game purely for its promotional possibilities.

Sorry guys already made the call and put the two parties together. It won't happen. The game we would have to drop would be stetson which would put our bye in week 2. coaches weren't willing to do that and President said no because we are required to play them each year because their pres and ours are good friends and have a friendly rivalry going. I tried.

I agree, I just figured if they put a game on october 31, it could make more some interesting ideas from a marketing aspect. IF marketing was used as the major reason for scheduling a game on a certain date...oy...

Let's play Troy!! They still don't have a game for the 26th since UAB dropped football. Ha maybe a home and home deal(first ever FBS team to play at FCS school or maybe will be FBS by the time they came to LU)?

1) even if we accepted an invite to the Sun Belt by the time I finished typing this post, we would still be an FCS team for 2015
2) Army and Yale say howdy

Given Liberty's support of the military, a game against Army, or Navy or Air Force for that matter, would be a great event at The Bill. A 2015 contest is ambitious, though.

We played Troy at the Bill, back in the day. Beat them too as I recall. I don't see them making a return trip this year though. Hope we can get a decent home game to replace JMU.

I wasn't trying to say that Troy would come back to the Bill this year. But I'd much rather play a quality team away than a D2 team at home. It seems highly unlikely this far along to find a good team to come to the Bill and play us.

Jake is correct in his assumption...now as far as forbidden's question, it really depends on the opponent. a road win over Morgan State would probably not have as much weight as a road win over Youngstown State or Montana State

Why does homecoming have any impact whatsoever ?? That's insane to allow homecoming control our schedule this far away. Any events scheduled for that week can be moved back with minimal negative impact I'm sure.

Actually I believe ODU played at Norfolk State during their transitional year. Does that count?

I wonder if we can pay Savannah State to drop their game and come up and play us?
