That may be the smallest HS I have ever seen. I actually thought they combined with Union High in Big Stone Gap.

I went to J I Burton until I was a junior. You're right, it is a tiny school. We would dress maybe 35 players and it was common for several players to play both ways. Burton, which is in Norton VA didn't combine with the rest of the Wise County schools, because Norton is a "city" and not part if the county school system. That area takes football very serious. I remember one year we played JJ Kelly(Wise) and we had around 5,000 people there. That's more than the whole city of Norton has. I would love to see this kid do well.

Good info. The new Union High looks nice and they put it up quick. I'd love to see a hoops game at Burton cause that gym HAS to be small. It's a very depressed area though. I have thought that if someone dumped some money in a ski area up there it would do well.

The kid is moving to Burton because his dad is taking some sort of administrative position with the school.
