Instead of studying, me and Nate have videotaped ourselves playing video games. It's pretty funny.

I pulled an A in both BIBL 350 and 450, both with Dr. Fink, which if you know of his reputation, you'd realize how big a feat that was.

My exam tomorrow is Intro to Sport. I don't have to study for that one.

The bad grade was in theology. I don't do good in the religion classes. Personally, I think we're required to take entirely too many but that's just me.

I actually did, and I thought I did good on the test but still made a 70. Thank God I have Towns next semester.

I'm also not one of those kids in the New Testament classes where you have online tests who gets together with friends and takes the test together. I know so many people who did that and passed the class when they didn't pay attention at all in the class.

You guys take a fraction of what we took back in the day. Theology may be a pain int he neck to take, but if you pay attention its a great way to affirm what you believe. As a Pentecostal I'd think that would appeal to you.

Yea, considering everything is taught exactly opposite of what Pentecostals believe. Ok, that's an exaggeration. We have enough "believe what Liberty wants you to believe" classes, we can combine a few.

I know you guys had to take more, you constantly tell us that, but I can only take so much of them telling me how to believe.

I'm surprised. Theology class (and Philosophy for that matter) back int he day simply was presenting different religious perspectives and wasn't pushing the Baptist mindset from what I recall. Now I'm not saying the didn't present the fallacies of Islam and Buddhism. But it was a pretty straightforward presentation of the different faiths. Perhaps that has changed over time.

Actually, some of "us" feel the same way...
...not so much specifically to religion, but 57 hours in general studies is way too many.

Good luck with your .46. If you were a regular active participant in class, then I would think you would be in luck.

at least he'll have a name to put to the face when he enters that final grade- sometimes it makes a difference.

good luck
Phone call is good, a personal visit would be better!
good luck

He told us if we did the course evaluation survey then he'd be more apt to round it up. Plus I realized last night that two of my quizzes weren't on there. They weren't good grades at all (one was homecoming weekend and my birthday where theology was the last thing on my mind) but they're better than 0's. I'm going to have to go by there.

as far as theology, it was my favorite class last year. And as far as liberty teaching opposite what you believe, i went to a calvinist school last year, however i am baptist/non denominational, and the calvinist theology just crammed calvinist ideology down my throat, i completely disagreed with it, but it was still my favorite class

Of course the theology is going to be biased towards the Southern Baptist ideology. We're a Southern Baptist school.

Even then, I still don't know what goes on through Towns head half the time. The guy is going a little crazy in his old age.

alot of classes are like that....some GOVT classes teach the opposite of what I believe. I just learn what they teach and explain to them why I don't believe it.

I thought TRBC and LU were independent of the SBC. Correct me if I am wrong, but by definition, a southern baptist church is affiliated with the SBC.

We may be independent in association but the same doctrine is being taught.

The intrepretation of Southern Baptist in VA is all shot to pieces anyway. They can't even get along with themselves, let alone other "denominations" -- see SBC and SBCV.
