Personally I wasn't a fan of their uniforms last night and I'm not a fan of gray or silver uniforms or accents unless its one of the school colors

Anyway, we may as well agree to disagree on this one

And my point would be WHY CAN'T YOU. As you can see here, its quite clear that LU is not/nor probably ever be on the cutting edge of anything. Yes, we will agree to disagree, we are all entitled to our own opinions. And, I do think that LU could do a silver/gray with the RED accents(that is a school color right) with chrome logo

Red helmet/chrome Logo
gray/silver top Red trim
gray/silver pants w/red trim
Now you are changing your mind. You originally said you wanted all grey and silver. Make up your mind. A red jersey with dark navy numbers with silver border would work. Or switch the blue and red. Completely different than what the Ducks had last night

This is what I said, and what I should of done is put together the combo I was looking for, I was being to vague. But YES, i would like to see the gray top with the red. Everything I was saying should have included some sort of Red trim/piping.

since its evident they would'nt do the all chrome helmet, but seem more willing to change a logo, hence they either RED/WHITE with the chrome logo. I would not do a white jersey since we have one already.

People need to understand that Oregon's uniforms are apart of their system. They are meant to attract 50 year old white men. Oregon started this about 15 years ago when they recruited kids that were ignored by USC, Texas, UCLA...etc. The uniforms are meant to draw attention to recruits, who otherwise, wouldn't get attention. The plan has worked as Oregon has a plethora of 3 and 4 star recruits from the west and now Oregon is relevant in football.

With that said, LU's branding isn't the same as Oregon. A majority of the recruits interested in playing for Liberty aren't of the same breed that Oregon is targeting. We don't need any more reasons to stand out among peers.

When people hear Liberty football, they think "Christian school founded by Jerry Falwell." 20 years ago, most everyone who lived east of the Rockies thought nothing of Oregon's football team. Now when you say "Oregon football", people think of unique uniforms, fast paced offense, great facilities.

We aren't the same school. We aren't the same brand. We don't need similar uniforms. We just need to embrace our own brand (which is something that I think athletics has done a fine job of for the past few years).

I guess we can agree that not all collefe alternate uniforms in "black" look good but when they are in the grey/silver color combo alot better, at least IMO. It can be done, but then again, I think you have to be willing to go outside the box a little and be somewhat creative with it.
Grey uniforms trimmed in red and navy blue would be totally fine by me. I loved when basketball did that. It's still got to have our colors. Oregon had no green or yellow last night. That's why theirs looked bad.

And to me there in lies the LU problem. People don't continually need to think of LU as that "Christian school founded by Jerry Falwell." You can be who you are without having to throw it in everyones face. That's the problem that people perceive that LU has. Not saying that it has to be true, but lets face it, it is perception. But, let me ask when you say "A majority of the recruits interested in playing for Liberty aren't of the same breed that Oregon is targeting. We don't need any more reasons to stand out among peers." What breed is LU trying to recruit, because again you need to have some nice guys and bad boys. Yes, it would ge good to stand out for more than the reasons people love to throw back in the schools face.

It would be just as nice to be that school that people think of unique uniforms, fast paced offense, great facilities as well.

And before anyone goes ballistic, those are NOT Oregon's "base" colors, so pls don't say it can't be done.
you talk in so many circles that you forgot where you started. THIS is how you started the thread. This was the post we were responding to. Now you are talking about different colors etc. Alabama isn't really creative with their uniforms. They seem to be doing ok. Penn St has t gone crazy with theirs either. Not FSU Not OSU Not Auburn Not Michigan. Not....well most schools
If you think accenting with silver/grey is cool than fine. BUT this is the uniform combo YOU posted and started the debate with

If you would have read what I typed at 2:58 you would have seen where I corrected myself from possibly misleading people.
AT 11:28 YOU asked me to tell you whom ALOT of schools were that did alternates and that was schools I named. BTW, OSU does have alternate unis, and Michigan has done different styles maybe not the colors.

You make my point. You wanted LU to wear the type of Uni's that Oregon had last night. Then, after being criticized for it, you changed your tune but didn't admit to changing your tune.
I suspect you are thinking of Michigans 'throw back' jersey's. A lot of schools do that. I'd be all for that on Homecoming. I believe Green was our original school color.

I could care less about being criticized for it. I like the combo, but I should have prefaced that by saying trimmed in LU colors.

Its the one that is most in play...wife is having issues with migraines again...hopefully once I get health insurance through work we can get her checked out.

As to the uniform situation, while Im not a big fan of some of the combinations, I can understand them at least because they are the school colors. I really don't see a need for a silver or gray alternate as I said before, though I will defer to SuperJon since he is fine with that as long as there are red numbers or something. If we wanted to do a special edition uniform for say military appreciation day, I could see a red top with blue rib panels and white stars on those panels, but really not much else in bringing new colors in the mix.

Not the equipment guy...just one of the founders on here and probably one of the most well connected guys around as far as football is concerned outside of manson and Lang...oh and he is a graphic designer too...I could go on but point is, he probably would be a better judge of what would work than I am...now ffg on the other hand...he is an equipment guy

BJ also has a Man-Crush on him. Not as big as the one he has on Lang but pretty significant none the less

I can respect that, but just because he is a website founder and a graphic designer doesn't make him a person that could put together a uniform combination, lol. I personally have been in charge of picking out school uniforms, and arena uniforms so I may be a bit biased as to how I would put together a football ensemble, lol.

You actually picked out uniforms? Well tickle me jealous. I'm sure that makes you the expert among experts here. But judging by the reception your grey on silver uniforms received I'm thinking others may be just as qualified if not more so
