Two things:

1. We are not where we are because of McKay. It's been six years. Six freaking years. Schools lose coaches and players all the time, it doesn't set their program back for six years. It's not like McKay committed some NCAA violation and cost us scholarships.

2. I hope we never bring McKay back. We need to be more creative than that. I've been saying this for years, go find a coach who is having success at a smaller school and can recruit local players. Stop trying to find that big-name hire.

I'm aware Jon...I passed my English classes too...for it to really feel like a "we" sort of sentiment though, there would need to be a lot more than two people making that declaration. One or two people makes it come off (at least to my observations) like they have some axe to grind

While I didn't specify three clearly, the bold should take care of that. I think if you see a significant number of calls/emails from fans, former players and others.

what are you defining as local?? its hard enough to recruit at Libery..being a coach from a small coach would make it even more difficult to recruit..we need a name..im telling you MCKAY would be great

It is 50% greater than 2. That is substantial

Not to the guy making that decision (which isnt you, but it ain't me either). if I had to put a number on it...I'd say it'd need to be 10 times that number at minimum

Kids from Lynchburg, Richmond, NOVA, VA Beach, Tidewater...etc.

Also, it's not hard to recruit here. That's a misconception. Liberty is different which provides a niche. Sure, there are certain kids who absolutely do not want to come here. But the opposite of that is true too.

We don't need a name. We've had names in the past and it hardly works out. A coach from a small school, who has experienced success, would be a great fit. Big name coaches are used to our type of facilities and budget. Small school coaches don't have that luxury, meaning they will have an enormous amount of appreciation for our resources.

Not really...it is interesting that Sly would be the one to agree with bballfan, but as I said, it wont make that big a difference to the guy who would be making that decision. Now, if you had smeone like say, the folks who donated for the Vines Center, then that might make a big difference. But, as I said in the realignment megathread, we are really just keyboard jockeys for the most part. we can have and express our opinions, but really the "power of Flamefans" is not as influential as one might think.

That said, if JB starts getting calls and emails at a pretty steady clip from fans, former players, Flames Club members, even a few coaches, and they all share that sentiment, then you might see something happen

Yep, count me in. I really don't know what it will take at this point for him to be let go.

I think if we are looking at another 20 loss season come end of January and the fans, donors and former players put the pressure on...you'll probably see a change made. Right now we are 3-5, which, while not great, is still not something to fire someone over.

McKay is not the answer, been there done that. I don't blame him for leaving the first time, it was a great opportunity for him.
Not sure who/what we need....................... but for sure, we need change. MBB is an embarrassment to the university sports program. The sad part is, that Layer seems to be a great guy.

I am. I think it was said when "he who shall not be named" was let go, it was about more than wins and losses. That said, JB no doubt is seeing the on-court issues, but he isn't going to pull the trigger this soon.

He's not going to fire him during the season. But the program is on fire.....and not in a good way.

What??? McKay's not the coach? (It has been that long since there was any news of importance in relationship to MBB).

Also, according to BJ, we only need 30 people to convince Barber to do it. If we get 30 on board, Barber has no choice but to do what we say.
