That's Baker's Bunch this year.

the people who cheered for Lee last year drove me insane...we would be in a close game with like 10 minutes left and they would be yelling for them to put him in...that was freakin ridiculous

This year they stand and support the team, and anytime Tyler Baker is in the game they chant for him. If he makes a shot, they chant his name. If he steals the ball, they chant his name. Someone even complained that there was more than one person on the team last night. If other people would stand up and cheer for their favorite player then maybe we'd have an atmosphere in the Vines.

so would you rather not have the socializers there? Or is it better just to have bodies in the seats.

I'm with you EL...this bothers me...at what point will our program take the next step and do these things...maybe we should have taken half of what was said for Karl Hess and used that for Larry??? I dont know, just throwin things out there

this does not surprise me at all. liberty athletics should have a seperate division called "flames sports marketing", put the radio and tv network under that umbrella as well. this dept would handle all marketing issues, and advertising sales. just an idea.

So, I think we need more information on "the gift" and "no regrets." Who gave it, what was it, and how good was it that there were no regrets for missing the Flames blow out a rival?

More importantly though more people is more important at this point than noisy fans. At some point you can change the way fans watch a game, but if theyre not there to see it, no problem. Also, I havent heard of anyone on my dorm at least watching games online, so Im not sure how much the internet feed is even hurting. Just tick poor marketing.

I'm betting what little paycheck I get that this is high on Barber's priority list. Remember, he came in this year with the goal of turning around the big sports. FB is on the right path- the staff issues were resolved and we saw the results on the field. Marketing was much improved, and will only get better.

My gut tells me MBB is next on the agenda. Consider it a "first hundred days" versus "second term agenda" kinda thing.

bad analogy, I know- but you get my point. Baby steps here for the new AD trying to change the atmosphere of an ENTIRE DI program

Things are happening and most of the things in the last 10 posts have been discussed and are in the near future. I know that most of you guys are not complaining but just pointing some things out. This group that is here now is the right group they have goals and will get the job done just give them a little bit of time. As for the Radio/TV being under the university that will happen sooner than later. I think 6 months from now you will see alot more improvements. I would say to keep coming with the ideas, we can never have enough imput.

SMOOTH - That has been discussed for years and everyone seems to agree on it. There are (have been) two problems with it: 1) No one would "pull the trigger" and allocate the resources to accomplish the task. 2) Where would the money go? Since salaries, facility upkeep, capital improvements all come out of the "General Fund" A.K.A Black Hole, who should get the money that is raised by the department? We will not raise enough to be "self sufficient" for quite some time if ever. (Remeber we don't even "pay" for our scholy's) Hopefully, Barb's has the clout, which he should b/c he hasn't been here very long yet!!

I gotta put this the best way possible...getting rid of those who wanted to do their own thing? I guess thats about as good as I can say it. There were so many within the program just collecting a check and could careless about the school or program in general. Those aren't the types that are going to go the extra mile for you...you cant have someone saying something 8-5 then once 5:01 strikes singing a different tune, whats unfortunate is some were singing the same tune 24/7

Has anyone gotten any sort of explanation as to how and why the administration bungled recognizing LB's accomplishment?

Who is the SID? That is their JOB!!! It's called Sports Information Director, for crying out loud. God Forbid, the champion try and do anything about it. But the AD, should be PIMPING this, but where is Barber? Has Dunton acknowledged anything? The SID should write a personal apology letter to LB and the school.
