Great job Chris, but I missed seeing where W&M falls in the CAA. Probably hanging by a thread or maybe bubble? Don't see any real good wins on their schedule so far.

Great piece, Chris! Won't Presbyterian finish 7-4 instead of 8-4 if they win out. I believe they have an 11 game schedule this year. Therefore, they can only attain 6 D1 wins. Yet, they would still have a strong resume. Also curious as to why you have McNeese State ranked 11th in your TSN poll. They haven't beaten anyone of note, and lost to .500 Sam Houston State. I guess their next three games will gauge their strength.

You're right on PC. That was just a mistake. As far as McNeese goes, once you get outside of the top 10 it's so hard to parse between the teams that you can make an argument for any team anywhere. Really been as difficult as ever to put a ballot together this season.

Nice analysis, Chris. No major arguments. I am just glad to see that there won't be any way that the committee will justify giving multiple bids to the MEAC, Patriot or NEC. Hopefully the committee is willing to overcome their historical fixation on the SoCon. There is no justification this year for two teams from that dumpster fire of a league.

You are entitled to your opinion. I'd be curious to hear you justify it based on where things stand right now.

We haven't had success with the committee in the past.

If we give them any argument to keep us out of playoffs, they will.

The only way for us to get in is to beat Coastal. I would feel a little different had we beat Indiana State or Richmond.

He's not me but I agree.
They will hold the Richmond and Indiana St games against us more than they give us credit for any win
When it comes right down to it will they take another school who is dedicated to FCS or a school who thinks they are too good for FCS?

Lets get by Monmouth first. I think we will, but overlooking an opponent is always dangerous.

You never know which Charl Southern team shows up. The one that played Vanderbilt, or the one that lost to Presbyterian.

from all of the little sites that I have been on, is this the first time that the overwhelming majority have included LU in the playoffs?

I'd love for LU to play Jacksonville State inn playoffs. When I lived in Alabama, I lived about 3/4 of a mile from JSU campus.

This is a vastly different environment in 2014 to the past. First of all, our league is rated higher than most of our neighboring leagues with more name recognition and that has never been the case before. Keep in mind that the committee loves to talk about quality losses and we have certainly have those on our resume in addition to some relatively strong wins. In the past, 8-4 with a D2 victory in the mix would not have been enough to get us in. But frankly I don't see how it could keep us out even with JMU sneaking in unless we were blown out by the Chants. Like BYD, I don't see that happening.

The 8-4 last year and the 8-4 this year would be completely different animals.

There was nothing on Liberty's resume last year. Zero. Just close losses. The win at Charleston Southern was nice but everyone knew CSU's 10 wins came against a really soft schedule, save for the win vs. CCU. LU had two DII wins, and 6-4 with no quality wins and what was kind of a bad loss to a so-so Richmond team left it with no argument.

This year, there's an FBS win ... and no matter how bad of an FBS team it came against, it was still an FBS road win ... there's a convincing win over a top-25 Bryant team that has a good chance of finishing 10-1. The losses would be to three teams in the top 11 of the GPI currently and an FBS program. That's a legit playoff resume. Last year's was not.
