On the other we lost a big game which speaks of typical Liberty.
Yeah we had a key 3rd down drop on our 1st drive where the WR bobbled or dropped the ball and gave the ball back to UR after they had that long drive to score their 1st TD. Another one Woodrum threw it deep and WR would have walked into the end zone but the receiver dropped it.

How is this for a telling number..................... 1 for 21.

That is our 3rd down conversion rate in the last 2 games. Opponents were 18 for 34.

I had more fun at that game than any other Liberty Football game in recent memory. It would have gone down as my greatest football experience to date had Liberty won the game in OT. But that 60 yard FG is something I will never forget and something you just don't see everyday. Great comeback and perseverance by the team.

Great to hang with SJ, Mrs SJ, Smoothy and others at the game. Thanks for allowing me to crash the party with the rest of my entourage 8)

It was great to see Danny Rocco. I am not ashamed to admit that I pull for Danny Rocco and that he is a class act in my opinion. But it would have been nice to send him back to Richmond with an L. Another big game that Liberty Football comes up just short but I am really hoping that this game propels the team to the strongest finish in Liberty Football History! Go out and beat 100% of the Big South opponents and this loss doesn't matter at all! GO FLAMES!!!

Hate to tell u BJ n PH on defense ur play I,g with 2 seniors 1 an all leaguer 2 sophs and 2 red shirt froshs, does the word young mean anything to you at all, that has nothing to do with coaching as much as everything from the coaches is about keeping it pseudo simple. This will be a very solid group by their senior yrs. And check how would you fire a coach who just had 2 nfl'ers.

Offense
How could you blame a coach for your most and best experienced receivers drop passes. Agai, players need to step up and be accountable or benched too. But you do that everything behi d them is young and inexperienced too. I see they benched zac Parker completely for his mis he's on specials, even taking him off his jet sweeps after his drop on that 3rd down last week. He'll. For sure get better, but but hv others that hv drops for continuing seasons that are apparently getting passes. So seems they rolling with apparent experience over youth. Bottom line again to me as these kids get older they will be better, but I wonder why we haven't seen 83 Fritz, but am looking forward to coach Taylor getting the wr BJ farrow. Back next year, hopefully another tall playmaker

This is not coaching, this is pride in your craft by players

I agree that unless there is more to the story than just the mistakes he has made in games, it seems Parker is being dealt with pretty harshly compared to others who have made similar gaffs. Zac brings an explosiveness noone else except Peterson has. It really is too bad Peterson and Farrow will only have 1 year on the field at the same time. He definately could have helped us this year.

This was from another thread but thought it deserved a shoutout....however this prediction was kicking with the wind...I'm guessing if he had the wind in his favor it could have been 70?!? Crazy to think about even if it's just 68 or so.

Great game and tough loss but not one that you can feel too bad about...it was highly entertaining and the entire weekend had a different feel about it. Thank you to everyone who came into town to take part in the weekend festivities and setting both a Homecoming registration record and Williams Stadium record. There is a lot to build on here as a program which is the exciting part.

Regarding FCS/FBS: If it is our admin's decision to put FBS on the back burner for a while and build on what we currently have then there's no shame in that. I have NO DOUBT within just a few years we can create a game day atmosphere that cannot be matched at our level. Then when College Gameday makes their annual FCS visit it'll be us who they choose so the rest of the country can see what's going on here. Just watching that video from the FargoDome gives me chills...they have the advantage of the dome but we have the advantage of resources where anything is within the realm of possibility to make it happen.

Even though it was a tough loss; overall it was a win for Liberty University and any of the visitors walked away with a renewed passion and a desire to return to campus or see the Flames when they are in their neck of the woods.

Thanks again FlameFans/FlamesNation I still consider myself one of you...even when that's not a popular thing to admit. :D

I turned it off in the first quarter and glad I did - would have just been frustrated.

Sad I missed the Lunsford FG but that was probably the only thing from the game that would have been worth watching.

Well, as unhappy as I was with the outcome, I did pick up a red mini helmet from the bookstore. I was surprised to see them available.

As always, you did a great job organizing Homecoming. Don't think I would want the job of trying to top it every year. Thanks for all of your hard work.

Several questionable calls by the refs greatly aided Richmond. With a good crew, LU would have been up 14-0 at halftime.

There was maybe 1 call I would have wanted a review on...the fumble that wasn't called a fumble before I think the first TD

I thought Coach's Gill's decision to go with the QB option and use Marsha as a backup RB was pure genius. After listening to Coach Rocco's post-game interview, and I think he pretty much agreed, too.

The Richmond player fumbled ball, LU recovered and would have had a TD had refs called it correctly. I talked with several who saw it on TV and said player's legs were still churning. The whistle had not blown play dead, thus it was a fumble. Refs covered their mistake by saying forward progress had stopped. if it had stopped, why no whistle. A couple years ago against Norfolk State, a LU player was stopped and on the ground. a NSU player picked up the ball and ran it back for a TD.
The 2 pass interference calls against LU were questionable calls, that should not have been called.

Whoever assigns the officials, always sends the worst crew available to Liberty.

By a longshot...I came in just before kickoff after taking care of an emergency back home and both sides were packed to the top. Win this past Saturday and we probably have 17.5 plus for Gardner-Webb after the bye week.
