Nick Pierce and Clement Townsend
A Google search wasn't much help in learning about Clement Townsend. Who can tell us more about him?
Stupid move getting rid of SCAR. I mean why would LFSN want a guy with basketball experience, a history and love for the school and program and above average talent calling our games? :dontgetit Let's go after some guy named Clement who probably 8 months ago thought Lynchburg is where they made Jack Daniels

Not that I want him to leave Liberty, but someone's got to give him a shot at least regional baseball TV in the next couple of years. He's good calling a baseball game on radio, but holy crap he's phenomenal on a TV baseball game.

Once I get established in the CAA I will be asking them to take a good look at Nick. I really hope the Big South pairs us up together this season too.

I have said it before and it bears repeating...Nick has a chance to go national. I totally could see him calling games for any of the ESPN networks college or pro...he probably is one of the best in the country.

Any of the national cable networks is a possibility for Nick, but personally I see him as a full-time play-by-play man for one of the major league baseball teams and then doing other stuff on the side

While I understand you are trying to be funny, if I believe in something and the truth it holds, then yeah I like repeating it

I'm happy that SCAR is moving on and as he is certainly ready for to move up to bigger conferences. This move once again proves that someone locked Kevin Keys out of the room, which is never a smart move because he is the smartest man that has any connection to our athletic department! Most of these decisions on campus are made by people who can't walk and chew gum at the same time and couldn't tell you the difference between a 2-3 zone and man to man defense. Nick and SCAR had great chemistry, that is needed even more when you are continuing to not win more than 15 games in a season. I can't tell you how excited I am to see us in action against Randolph Macon Women's College, Bluefield H.S, Central Penn Station and the Cincinnati Christian Bengals

Yep. He was the only reason I'd watch a 20 loss team on TV

Totally Hijacked Coach's thread but:

I appreciate the love guys. Of course you are 3 of my friends so you guys could be perceived as a little biased

No really though I hope Nick and Clement can develop the chemistry that Nick and I had in our short time together.

(1) Meyer belongs in your HOF. Any objective basketball fan can see that.

(2) Getting rid of SCAR? Are you kidding? Best wishes to him in his moving up the food chain at least.

My Not-So-Bold Predictions:

Coach Meyer will be in the HOF.

Nick Pierce and Clement Townsend will be a dynamic broadcasting team.

Tim Scarborough will find success broadcasting in the CAA.

And they all will live happily ever after.......

(If you aren't watching 'Game On' you should be. It's creative, entertaining and well-done. It's well worth the 30 minute investment and on four times a day.)

I wouldn't be so sure about Kevin not being in the room for this one. As much respect as he may have for scars work, I can see the reasoning for wanting to go all in house. Let's see what happens when it comes time to decide who is doing play by play for football next year. Tilly has been just okay IMHO. Nick would be an upgrade.

What you may see as the sports broadcasting classes (I think there was talk of that at some point) iget rolling is students getting opportunities and developing broadcasters that can either be used for LFSN or be sent out with much needed experience and demo tapes they can submit.

Sports Broadcasting is the name of a class on one of the new digital media DCP's. And if anyone where to suggest an idea like that it would be Dr. Mintle. And if this actually happens before I graduate :pbjtime. Even though a few people on this board would react to me calling games more like this :guntohead

Chief Marketing and Communications Officer. Stranger things have been done with job descriptions, but somehow I don't think doing play by play is in his. In any event working for the church does not make him in house with LFSN, so let's see if they continue going forward with switching to all in-house personnel.

The thing with Mike Tilley is he did football way back when we first moved to Williams Stadium and then DC and we only did a few games a year after that...After we started doing all of the home games around I think 07, when we were looking for a broadcast voice, he made sense, so they.worked out a position for him to make it more worth his while...thats my idea though
