Seriously had flashbacks to the 2008 YSU game when Bevins hit the game winner while looking at this match up. I think we have the ability to win. We have to go in with the mindset that this is one of those must win games even though its OOC. or there is serious potential to get hammered. My worry is that the guys will go into this like they did against Laffy that same year and run into a buzz saw.

And for the sake of calling this a trap game lets be honest, with a line up of Bryant, ISU, Richmond and Appy, at least we don't have a game where we know we should go in dominate and wind up with a WTF(reak) games like Presby. The boys know that this stretch is probably the toughest we've had in a row in a long time.

Two things:

1) I like the mindset of this team...they knjow that every game matters at this point so I highly doubt they will have a week where they will just sleepwalk into the game.like we did against Lafayette
2) The games where we most likely COULD have a WTF are in the conference season

It's all going to be on the running game, IMO. We come out and dominate on the ground and we'll win. If we can't keep their offense off the field with some long drives, we'll come away with a L.

I don't think that it necessarily has to be all on the running game. But it will hinge on ball control and turnovers.

Bluejacket is correct to a degree. I think if we can get success with our running game it will help with ball control and open up our passing game, because I'm not sure that ISUb has the guys to stay with all our receiving options.

My point is that you take what the defense gives you to move the chains. You can throw to set up runs just as well as you can run to set up passing. If they let Woodrum stand in the pocket and complete short/medium passes down field, do it. If they can't stop the run (which is less likely in my opinion), hammer them with the ground game.

This game is entirely about the offense maintaining possession of the ball by not turning it over and consistently moving the chains. The defense has to take the ball away and stop them from building drives. Do those things and we will win by 10+.
