Cider Jim wrote:Mystery solved about that fenced in rectangular patch of grass (see below).I do remember that...I didn't realize it was in the same area though. I don't remember exactly what was on the plaque, either.
Old timers will remember that between the old gym and the old tennis courts there was a rock with a plaque on it that designated, I think, a family cemetery that was once part of that land. Looking from the Scholars Lounge balcony in the library, I could easily see that same rock and plaque at the center of that fenced in area.

They're supposed to be able to start laying foundations for the Campus Center this month or next.

Do they try to "recycle" the shrubs and trees and use them elsewhere on campus or are they trashed?Cider Jim wrote:But the big news is that today they have begun tearing down the old Fine Arts building and pulling up all the trees and bushes that used to be in the courtyard behind DeMoss.I figured they would start that soon. I don't think the university keeps them, I think they sell them to people who can recycle them. They may do a similar process with at least some of the plants, but I'm not sure.BCXtreme wrote:Just curious. LU claims to be so military friendly, yet no memorial?well then... uncannily (?) enough look what just got posted online: https://twitter.com/libertyflames

Definitely a bit of a surprise and can't wait to check it out when I come into townWell it's not as if Williams Stadium regularly fills to the max anyway.

Most of his time at the podium was dedicated to telling an embarrassing story about his daughter.Thanks. Guess we will be waiting a bit longer. I have my eye on the Liberty Journal coming out in two weeks.

IMO, that new LED lighting totally changes the ambiance of Convocation, and definitely for the better.

Today, several large trees were delivered there to be planted, and right now the unplanted trees are scattered throughout the rows of the "amphitheater". If the trees are going to be planted where they are laying, it would seemingly block the view of of any group performing down below.Remember. It's only a Master Suggestion, not Mater Plan
Maybe the trees are supposed to give that part of campus more of a park-like setting?
