As someone who grew up in Appalachia to a family filled with Bluegrass musicians but who lives in Texas, yeah Texas, this was some fun:

Who knew there were rednecks in Finland?

They look (and sound) about as backwoods bluegrass as they can be, but I've never seen an ACCORDIAN in a bluegrass band before.

That's the Finnish-ing touch!

I live in Texas where the German & Bohemian influence on traditional music has accordions everywhere (give Tejano or Norteno music a listen some time). I didn't even notice how out of place it was.

For the record, I fully expected you to be the one to reply to this thread.

Anvils and spoons as well. Interesting mix but I think I prefer traditional bluegrass. This could grow on me though.

There's a series you can find on spotify (and probably lots of other places) called Pickin' On. It's basically bluegrass versions of mainstream songs from 80s to Metallica to Tarantino movies. It's like a Bluegrass version of Kidz Bop. Some of it's good, some not so much.

Nothing good should EVER be compared to Kidz Bop. Those kids can't sing to save their lives, neither can I but I also don't sing on professionally produced albums.

I can see how it looked like I meant some of kidz bop is good and some isn't. I can assure you, that was simply poor post structure on my part.

A better example would have been Richard Cheese or Paul Anka with their lounge covers.
