Sorry little man, but that's a pretty serious charge to levy under the circumstances. I cant just let that stand without questioning it to some degree.

Back to football, the RB battle is gonna be one to watch with Des out. if we keep it below 40 points (combined), we could have a chance, and being able to move the chains with the backs as well as the passing game will help.

I don't think they were Jerry Sr specials but lets not pretend our athletic dept has always been the cleanest. Things are better now and I don't believe we went to the extent UNC has gone but lets stop pretending we were innocent. There are plenty of people with first hand knowledge that says otherwise.

I do think the whole "Jerry Sr special" comment was made just to get you going beej and it worked.

Finally back to talking about the game. For some reason as we get closer I'm getting more and more confident that we could somehow pull this off. I don't know what information the guy form Beyond Sports used to make his predictions for FCS over FBS upsets but we were #1. And I think even without Des we will probably be better this year than last year.

I did read it, that's the worst part :brownbag. But even without that guys article my point is still the same the last few times I had a really strong gut feeling my team was going to win or pull of an upset this happened:

and this:

and of course this:

So even though it was a completely different situation, and all three of these games happened over a year ago I still had a gut feeling when all of the "experts" said my team would get killed. And I was right for all three games.

You are smoking crack if you think this happens.

Wait Bruce Feldman thinks we're a solid FCS team? That's news to me, the rare occasions when national sports analysts talk about Big South teams and schools they have to fight back laughter.

Anyone know how many UNC players the scandal affected if any. A guy that works with me said his cousin, a starting defensive back was disqualified this year for academics.

One truth for sure.......LU players will have seen a classroom before that game. The Tar Holes are as scummy and corrupt as they come, getting Woodall, the Orange County DA and Tar Hole alum, to not pursue any charges was the last straw. The should have Switzer coaching football and Tark coaching hoops there, they'd fit right in.

Good thing poor Dean is unable to comprehend what the heck is going on there, it would break his heart. He at least ran a clean ship, unlike Roy.

That story is from years ago. Greg Little is going on his fourth year in the NFL.

flamehunter thanks for the link. Looks like UNC wasn't hurt much by the fake classes.

The defense will play a key part, but so will the offense. They must control the ball better than last season (chief ex. ODU and Richmond). That will be critical if we want to be in the game against Richmond, UNC, ASU, and Coastal.

Not the best researched piece you will read in advance of the season opener, but the UNC Scout guys put together this free preview:

North Carolina will kick off its 2014 season under the lights at Kenan Stadium against Liberty University on Aug. 30.

Overview: Liberty had a solid 2013 campaign as the Flames finished with an 8-4 record. Their 4-1 conference record gave them a share of the regular season Big South title alongside Coastal Carolina. The Flames are led by head coach Turner Gill, who arrived in Lynchburg prior to the 2012 season. In his first two seasons at the helm, Gill has shared consecutive conference titles. Now the question is how the former Kansas Jayhawks head coach prepare his team for a matchup against an opponent from a BCS conference. The Flames haven’t faced a non-FCS adversary since 2012 when they lost at Wake Forest, 20-17.
