When we need a goal in the second half of a game, and you are looking for Brad Davis or that little boy to create something, you will realize how valuable Donovan would have been.

As Bruce Arena said, if we have 23 players better than Landon, we should win the World Cup. Howard called him one of the two or three best players on the team at the beginning of camp.

Every coach has their pet player. Donovan used to be that type of player, but his attitude has gotten worse as his skill has decreased. I'm not saying he isn't talented. Just that he's not a good fit anymore.

Both Jozy goals were pretty great but he got a great pass for the first one, the second was almost all him and it was BEAUTIFUL.

I was a little happier with the back 4's play through the first 60 minutes of the game. The excuse for some of the breakdowns in the second half being related to substitutions I guess I'll believe... though with some skepticism. Beckerman and Jones looked solid back there and I really like the play of the left and right backs (Johnson and Beasley).

I wish they would have capitalized on more of their chances in the fast breaks though. They could have easily picked up 2 more goals. Those are goals we might need in the first game against Ghana.

Very Solid Send off series. Good build up, and Jozy got some confidence. Also Beckerman needs to be the base of the diamond, he doesnt try and do too much. He stays in his area and has enough skill to make due.

For those who have followed the MNT since 2010 to present, the following article is a great read/summation of the changes they've undergone. The difference in playing style is apparent... While I disagree with his choice to sideline Donovan, I think it's still easily safe to say that Jurgin knows what he is doing and he is having a huge impact on the play and performance of the US. I really like what he is doing with having the left and right backs moving forward into an attacking role. If we get out of the group stage, I think it will be in part because of the play of Fabian Johnson and DeMarcus Beasley.
