Very wrong. I wanna see if he can bolster the pass rush. if he can and makes the team, great...if not, off he goes. I think Bill Polian made a good point on the draft coverage...basically he said take care of the media nonsense once then keep it to football only the rest of the way

The first half of this, is kind of what I was getting at. If it's a throwaway pick, why not get a guy who generates publicity? The second half of your statement applies to probably most 7th rounders, I don't think that's an exclusive advantage to Michael Sam.

Btw, I would argue that Sam's publicity is a good thing. The media is going to be all over this for months, and you know the spin on Sam will be positive, despite his on-field performance. He brings with him a demographic that will now be following the Rams closely. I'm anti-gay marriage and think this whole thing has been blown out of proportion, but unless Sam is mistreated, I only see Rams publicity being positive.

How do people spend so much time watching a draft? I can handle like 15 minutes at a time and then I am analyzed out.

I can watch the first round, but after that, Twitter is enough information. Just tell me the guy's name, what college he played at, and what position he plays.

They have to get Johnny Football some weapons, or he'll be just another Brady Quinn or Brandon Weeden(sic?). Because as great as he was at A&M, I think Mike Evans' hands may be made of velcrow and stick-um. As good as Johnny Manziel is he isn't the guy who can make average receivers look better than they really are like Brady can and Manning could.

They picked up a few in the UFA pool but they better hope somebody steps up bigtime or GMTM and the rest of the Dawg pound will be barking for all the wrong reasons

its pretty terrible. i watched the first round. i was done.

local chicago radio does a segment called "who's your guy" for a week or two leading to the draft in which people call in and they read a draft guide that is already out of date (nawrocki's) and then "discuss" the player. 90% of the guys asked about are 4-7 round guys who nobody has heard of or seen ESPECIALLY the hosts. their synopsis is always "well that doesn't sound too good" of course it doesn't, they are 6th rd picks!

If anyone was watching the NFL Network when Aikens was selected the analysts gushed about recruiting at Liberty. Talked about being one of a few colleges to recruit Khalil Mack and was able to snag Aikens. I didn't hear that stuff about JMU or the plethora of other FCS teams the sun belt have put over Liberty.
