They called it in the wonut in the caption, I'm thinking that's what whoever created it called. I would just call it a waffle-donut, no need for a weird name.

Yeah, the cronut craze lasted all of like a few months. Highly over-rated IMHO. But I'd be down with giving this a try.

Looks like the place that created it is in Chicago. I was hoping it was in the area of the radio station that posted that picture(Delmarva Peninsula). There's a place down there that makes the best donuts I've ever tasted and if they made this I would make the two hour drive right now.
