<decided against bumping PH's original concert thread b/c ATRAIN derailed it with his awful music selections and PH is a latent egomaniac>

the MEDIC family making a couple shows this summer

started last night with Trivium/Volbeat who friggin' brought it. GREAT show- highly recommend them

next up a rather eclectic range of acts (I take credit for the cool ones and blame MRS PA for the others)

GaGa
Kenny Wayne Shepherd
Nine Inch Nails/Soundgarden (hopefully)
ZZ Top

[2013 was just as weird- including Pink and MGMT]

we're well rounded

Not a lot around these parts. Tentatively looking at Crüe/Alice Cooper in Grand Rapids in July and KISS/Def Leppard in Charlotte. Mi wanted to see Alice in Chains in Roanoke but church obligations make it a no go.

And I am the concert geek here and deserve my own thread!

You are a horrible parent

Secondary Market last minute is the way to go. SeatGeek is my go to.

we've been paying anywhere from 35 bucks up to 150 bucks per seat depending on the show

but its worth it.

and we don't have any other hobbies
You have a lot more options up there. My cousin got 2 tickets to the Eagles for $35 for both. Mrs Purple and I paid significantly more

Hoping to get to see Jimmy Buffett again this year; his Cinci show is on the Monday we get back from the beach, so it's uncertain whether we'll get there or not. He IS playing Greenbrier July 5, so we'll have to see.

Thinking about going to see Steve Taylor play up in Columbus too.

Steve a Taylor was my 2nd favorite CCM artist growing up. Wish he came around here

man i just didn't dig volbeat the one show we went to AND their albums are just meh.

i find that with Palladia HD i don't have to go to shows anymore. i can just enjoy them from the comfort of my own home. Love that channel.

my buddies band is touring. Three Years Hollow. got signed to a label. cookie cutter stuff but its not too shabby.

my last concert was a year ago when i went to a bassnectar show. I'm too old for that to ever happen again

palladia a weekend or so ago showed coachella live all weekend. there is some really crappy music getting pub right now. probably always been that way tho.
