I saw something today that looks really good for us, but I am kind of afraid to talk about it. I don't know how delicate this situation is. Is it possible for things leaked on here to possibly hurt us? What are your thoughts?

I saw something that is completely unrelated to realignment but confirms JFJR is in Louisiana right now. He tweeted that he was in Willie Robertson's office while Willie was away shooting for Duck Dynasty(he had a picture but it was on his instagram,which is private). I know he's probably friends with the Robertson's since Willie spoke in Convo last year. Maybe JR went down to Louisiana to talk to some Sun Belt people and when Willie found out he was in town he invited him to visit the set.

Or, he went down to do something Duck Dynasty related and it has nothing to do with the Sun Belt (completely believable given the Robertsons' connections at LU). He could also be meeting with Gov. Jindal for some reason, in advance of his Commencement keynote. I seriously doubt he would post that information on Twitter of all places if his location was a closely-guarded secret.

I was wrong above. I believe Willie has connections at UL Monroe. He also graduated from there.

I'd like to believe that what gets thrown around on message boards has no affect whatsoever on legitimate business discussion but then again I believed that the glowing Carr report recommendation would shoehorn us into any FBS conf we wanted

I think it's fine to share things that any other member of the public could reasonably obtain. I would be cautious about sharing insider information, just because at this point I would say any carefully guarded secrets are being carefully guarded for a good reason.

I too thought that the Carr recommendation would make us a slam dunk for any G5 conference. I think it's just our misfortune that we came into the game when major realignment was just ending, and also that the conference who is the best fit happens to be one that has no existing private schools as members.

People have shared info for 2 years about this crap and nothing has ever happened one way or the other. Sly has made a living at the vague news story so I guess there is another person to add to that club. If you have something say it, if you don't think you should then just keep your mouth shut. It is a waste of everybody's time.
