Seems like it, but once the meetings start I can almost guarantee people will panic every day if we don't hear anything. I will probably be one of them which is why I know it will happen.

We have the calm and the Sun Belt board people completely skipped over that and moved right into the desperate looting, hording, and general widespread panic stage. They know what is most likely going to happen and they are scared.

People hoping for EKU on the SBC Board are only setting themselves up for bitter disappointment.

I sense there will be a lot of unhappy people on that board come May.

Chief, glad to see you over here. Are you hearing anything more or is that just your general thoughts on the matter?

There was movement last week to work out a compromise with the Western Division to accept an Eastern All Sports Member. I am guessing that team is Liberty.

EKU appears to be a thrown in option by a school that might not be too comfortable with Liberty. On the surface, they are a good invite, and offer better travel for the rest of the league than Lynchburg does. However, I've looked at the numbers, and I just don't see how they can possibly budget enough together for a move so soon.

Its possible they could pull it off. But you guys have them lapped in facilities, and I just don't think its worth ignoring those facilities simply because people are upset that Liberty's heavy online base, and questionable political history. If the league is going to do that, they'd be better off to wait and see what the championship game deregulation means for the rest of FBS. At least then you could claim you are doing so because of that and not just ignoring Liberty.

General question. How would you guys feel if Liberty offered to pay a sizable entrance fee to get into the SB conference? What would be a reasonable amount? I'm not sure what the fee is currently, but I could see Liberty helping offset some of the travel cost for the Western teams for a set time period. If this were to happen I don't think it would be made public knowledge.

Don't quote me but I believe Sun Belt entrance fee is one million. This is what I believe Georgia Southern & AppSt had to pay to join. I do not know if this fee was due to the Sun Belt from GS & AppSt when they announced last year or if by the date that both offically join the Sun Belt which is coming up in the next several weeks.

I can see us willing to pay up to 5. LU wants it that badly. They could also offset costs by allowing their aviation students to fly Falwell 1 to go pick up and take home Western Teams. Of course we'd have to buy a bigger Falwell1 :dontgetit

NOTE: the nitwits on this board (including me) do not speak for the administration on matters of entrance fees or Flights, haha. But yea, we do want in for sure. We shall see what the compromise is, but not for a month-ish.

I agree PH. I could see us agreeing to a 5 million entrance fee. That's a nice chuck of change for a few of the SB schools that really struggle with athletic budgets.

Now I am just a message board junky who will be back as your worst nightmare when Liberty is GS next victim if the Flames join the Sun Belt. I have no sources, no inside information, only my own thought about what will happen which is just an educated guess on my part. I feel the compromise is NMSU all sports so ya'll just better save ya'll money to be able to sent your teams to the wild wild west if your the ONE.

Wonder how that would go down? I can't see the Liberty folks saying "hey come let us play and we'll give you several million dollars". I'm just thinking out loud here. I can see the SB presidents laughing and saying their so proud of the online program then it's going to cost them. Another poster brought up the point we could also agree to help those schools that are starting online programs by showing them what works and doesn't work. Liberty is going to get their online students no matter what other schools offer due to the courses offered and the Christian affiliation.
