Gaynor didn't even play. I think anyone in the big south is going to be good to keep it close against us.

I didn't think so to begin the year, but I do think WU will go undefeated in conference this year. We're a top 25 team.

I am not sure you can put WInthrop in the top 25, but they are pretty dang close. IF they win another of these games they are in for the year. It is a battle for second place.

We don't need to talk about last year. Let's just talk about this year.

Really, I think WU can run the table... if the guys play hard and bring it every night. But, I think if we try to look past anyone we can be beat... except by Coastal because they are not good (last year was their good year for this decade).

However, if you guys want to just give us the title then we will take it. :D

My point is, we've heard this before. I think the difference between WU and 2nd best has shrunk this year. There's no doubt that WU is #1 in this league but it's the same team the other 7 teams have seen 2-3 times per year, every year. I just dont think WU is that much better to be able to overcome how difficult going undefeated in your own league truely is. And who knows, if they lose 1 game in the leauge all year, it could be their final game. (well, I guess the NIT would have to take them)

I agree that it won't be easy for WU to do it... but it can be done. To be honest, I don't care if we go undefeated or not... I just want to win the Big South and make the NCAA Tournament (and win a game this time).

No team has ever made it through The Big South without a loss; and that includes some very good teams and some very down years for the rest of the conference. Just as in any conference, The Big South is a tough road league.

I've been able to see most of the teams play, and my honest opinion is that it's going to take a very off night from WU and a very good night from another Big South team, on their home court, to pull the upset. The talent and experience disparity is pretty wide. I actually think the gap has widened a good bit from last year, but we will see.

We'll take them in the Furnace. I'll stake my good name on that one.

Realist, I think Winthrop is a solid team for sure and they have proven they can play with the big boys but I don't think there is any way possible that they will run the table. Teams are gonna give them their best game as they have a target on their backs. Plus I don't think they are as talented as last season without Otis Daniels and Shuler. They are a great team but far from unbeatable in conference. Can't wait to see them play Liberty though. Should be an interesting matchup. big south teams know how to play WU better than any of these non conference teams. The league will be ready for them. Clearly they are going to win a lot of games but I wouldn't pencil in that undefeated conference season just yet.

Scar, have to disagree with you. Shuler and Daniels were tough, but Shuler's scoring has been replaced by a more potent Jenkins. All I know is that we haven't even played a complete game yet and we're competing toe to toe with UNC and Wisconsin. I was amazed they did what they did last night with the walk on, kyle moore, running the point for the majority of the game. I can only imagine when Bradshaw gets healthy and Gaynor is playing.

And manger, no, obviously I haven't seen him, but I have seen them without him, they are improved definitely, but they also haven't played anyone worth anything yet.
