I'm not sure about that. Are you sure you don't mean the "driving range"? (They ended up putting a community garden on a very small fraction of that land.

The site is a mile away from the Odd Fellows Rd interchange, and not related. I think LU might have a couple of contractors who are allowed to get ahead or we need the lumber money. Don't forget, an administration member along with a local crane company owner are "managing" construction jobs, so we'll never know. At least the money stays local!

I don't know if this still applies, but at one point the president said that excavation work would proceed around the mountain during lulls in work for these companies... In other words: cheap labor.

The master plan was changed to show more intramural fields in that area below the monogram and maybe some type of housing. I have heard that there have been meetings to find a location for the olympic sport complex so I guess it will get built somewhere eventually.

What am I bitter about postie? that would require that some past hurt festers in my spirit and while I get upset, I dont see a situation where I revisit said past hurt with little regard to the consideration of others

A past hurt can be revisited anytime one pleases without necessarily affecting one's future health.

BJ, every time you say that, you're presuming that to revisit any issue is unhealthy. You are wrong. To forget our past is to repeat it. And don't pretend for a second you really care about our future health. Such pretense is frivilous posturing in an effort to: 1. blindly defend your alma mater, and 2. appear high brow and morally superior to the subject to whom you're speaking, usually because you think defending your alma mater is always the higher moral ground. But, you should stop it, because you're bad at it, and your efforts fail every time.

And another piece of advice: defending one's alma mater is not the highest level of moral standing. In contrast, defending what/who is right is the moral high ground. And seeing as no person, or entity run by persons, can be perfect there is no person or place who always holds the moral high ground.

Says the one who brings up posters that rarely post on here any chance he gets. Its cool man, we all struggle with bitterness. No worries and Happy Easter!

Happy easter to you as well postie and well said JK. While I agree that no person or entity run by people is perfect (having worked in your fair share of athletic contexts), I do disagree that my comments are based on pretense. that said, I will probably stay away from the side of the board not associated with the x and o side of things for the time being...especially as I prepare for a big interview this week (I believe I sent you a message about that actually JK)

Widening that small section of Greenview is completely unnecessary. Take that money and improve on Airport Rd by adding a third lane for right turns at the Leesville intersection.

I'm pretty sure upgrading the entire intersection is part of the plan.

Kind of confused... didn't the Greenview Dr widening already get 12 million last year in the transportation surplus? Or is this something different?

And I would hope upgrading the intersection is part of the plan...dropping off and picking up the kiddos at daycare during rush hour makes me mega loath that area. Of the two, I'd rather have the intersection upgraded with that third right turn lane on airport. Just a congested area of Lynchburg regardless.

From what I have seen improving the intersection is included but I have not seen a breakdown of turn lanes. Ideally there would be a left turn lane each way on Greenview and two lanes going straight each way but not sure if the space is there for that.

I am at that intersection often, and I would love to see dedicated right and left turn lanes for both directions on Greenview. That said, conditions there are so bad right now IMHO that pretty much any improvement would be ... well, an improvement.
