Interesting. I have a family who is a rather prominent and long time faculty member. He remembers the Borek years as a time when good things happened. This sentiment was echoed by another faculty member who is by far, the most widely known academic at LU. I wonder if anyone here knows the details of his departure. Maybe Cider, but I doubt he'll weigh in on the issue. Borek is one of the main reason LU gained reaccreditation in 2005.

...and of equal weight as those who go after JB. As one person said, we are all entitled to our own opinions, but not our own facts. I tend to see Borek through a different lens and I know plenty of others who remember him in a positive way.

What rule? The MBB forum rule? That has absolutely nothing to do with it. Threads don't devolve around people bring up John Borek every other day.
I think disdain is a strong word. It's more ambivalence. He was brought in as part of a package deal to get our SACS accreditation secured. That happened because of his connections. It's part of the game and I am ok with that. His focus was academics and that's fine too.

I believe we are set to move forward on the next phase following the same pattern we did on the home tower. Although I have heard the new side will actually be larger than the one we have in place.

I wouldn't necessarily assume that the project begins immediately following the 2014 season unless that were a requirement for an invitation to an FBS league..

That is still down the line. But it is not a priority in the short term. The visitors side tower is going to be epic if everything I have seen and heard about it proves accurate.

Anybody know what's happening up on Candler's Mountain (past Liberty Ridge heading toward Sunnymeade)? They are clearing out a bunch of trees on both sides of the road, and they've put in some temporary gravel roads, and I'm hearing a bunch of explosions today.

Ripping out trees in full force now. I think I said previously that an apartment complex had been planned for that spot. AFAIK that is still the plan.
