It won't be liberty and JMU. IF they add two it will be because JMU turned them down. I think they just add one not named liberty or JMU....

You really think they leave app state out to dry like that? While I don't want to get my hopes up I can see them adding 2 in this case (1 east and 1 west). JMU is the wild card here still.

I don't think App has much say in the matter. they just joined and are close enough to the two Ga Schools to merit considering them travel partners if they really had to.

I agree that App does not have much say in the matter especially since Georgia Southern was brought in with them. However when I look at the Sun Belt footprint map that jcmanson posted, I think of two things 1) the Sun Belt is a 'regional' conference and 2) every conference mate has both a rival and a travel partner except for App.



Georgia Southern serves as App's rival largely because of their time in the SoCon. If we are accepted, we would solely serve as App's travel buddy. And this would totally be fine with me since it takes years to build a rivalry. Also, Benson has mentioned how he prefers for the 12th member to serve as App's traveling partner. Looking at the map, we fit every need the Sun Belt is looking for. But will the presidents see it that way? I sure hope they do.

I'm not normally the pessimist but replace us with JMU on that map it still looks just as good. We have nicer facilities than JMU and the administration is more committed to athletics but I don't know if the SBC presidents are looking at that as much

Will Liberty be invited? Your guess is as good as mine to this question.

There are several different things that can happen or nothing could happen just due to the fact that it will take 9 out of 11 of the conference members to agree on any additions.

I feel that either Liberty or JM will join the conference in all sports. Both are in the process of filling out the paper work that has to be filed with the NCAA before June 1. Only one will join the conference.

NMSU could join the conference as an all sports member. MSU could be invited to join the conference. If both of these two happen I see Idaho being remove from the conference in football.

Any of these thing could happen or nothing could happen this year or the conference could supprise us just like last year when NMSU and Idaho were added as football only.

Just for the reason of the conference having to have 9 of it members agree to make any changes in membership, I feel it will 2 changes in conference in membership for the members to come to an agreement.

I do not know much information about BirdofParadise the ULL poster that was quoted but what from what I have seen the best information comes from ArkStFan.
