Our TV deal allows for teams to broadcast their games, but there are conditions.

1. The game cannot conflict with an ESPN generated SBC Broadcast
2. The feed must be offered to ESPN3
3. The game can only be televised in states in which an SBC Team resides, and states that border that state. (In football Idaho and New Mexico are added.)
4. States inside the SBC area are blacked out from ESPN3, and must watch LFSN for game feed
5. States outside the SBC area can only watch the game on ESPN3.

We signed this deal years ago when our idiot commissioner at the time decided he wanted to have a longer TV deal than what we had. It led to WKU leaving the league because it cost them a regional deal with Fox.
Who's 'our'? What did I miss? I was too busy ABC!

Unless this is a typo, this statement is really interesting.

Possibly. I do feel bad. Did you hear about his half brother's cousin's dog?

Probably going through a tough time now, and because of that, lacks any filter for sarcasm or pop-culture references.

I'm just guessing though.

Loved LU's production of that show...one of the best in the old theater
Liberty put that on? That's interesting. I'm guessing the script was edited?

trying to still remain cautiously pessimistic so if I wake up to bad news tomorrow (this) AM I don't hurl myself out a window

BEEJAY that was a joke I'm not really gonna hurl myself out a window if the SunBelt turns us down.

Indeed...as to the current topic, with as much as went into LFSN I would hate that having to be compromised so we got into the Sun Belt because the presidents are holding so tight to their wallets

Also I wouldnt expect you to hurl yourself out a window Medic...you could barely reach the windowsill anyway

I hope LFSN doesn't take a hit from this, the production on there is better and commentators more objective than a certain conference that shall remain unnamed network. And if I lose the opportunity to work with LFSN in my four years because of this I won't be to happy.

One odd thing about the SBC is we use things like "we" and "our" to talk about the league itself. We sort of see ourselves as all working together for the same goal of gaining national exposure.

You'll see a few who bash the league...usually on individual team sites, but its a brotherhood type thing. Primarily because we're all fighting the same battles ultimately.

I hate to tell you this...but if you guys are announced officially, I'll probably lock the thread and start a new one. The original purpose of that 215 (now) page monstrosity is to discuss Liberty University and whether or not they will be effective members of the SBC.

Once you become a member, the rules change. We are very strict about bashing member schools academics...and their politics. I think the discussion for now is that we'll try and shift the Political religious talk to the General Discussion board...and try to force current membership to go along with it.

Or...I'll just go on an unscheduled vacation and let the other mods handle it. :D

Thanks for the Welcome guys. I'll go ahead and mention that I cannot confirm the original post the Sun Sentinel reporter, however I did hear last week the plan was to give JMU a take it or leave it offer. If they said anything other than yes, you guys would get an invite. I heard a couple days ago that TV negotiations had begun, so I am assuming JMU said no...but I am not saying that publically because I want to savor a potential JMU fan riot and not create it.

no one ever convinces anyone else ... I come here for sports arguments and torturing certain naive members of this board

Guys, I am growing more excited by the minute. I am hearing from multiple sources in several states that this is in fact going down. None of the sources has Liberty ties. Most are suggested the news could come out possible Tuesday or Wednesday if some details are ironed out.
