Can we make a rule or at least come to an agreement not to cross pollenate between this thread and the other message board? Not everyone reads (or cares) about the Sun Belt board. There's just been a lot of 'Hey, look what they said over there' or references here to a post or person over there. We are not part of the Sun Belt. I think we will be (although 9 votes is making me pause) but we aren't. So let's just talk about us here and not them.

First of all, I put in a comma and separated the in and 10. The comment was directed a someone's comment on the Sunbelt board. The poster "Brokeback Flamer" seems to have knowledge of our school and the area, but he usually twists the truth in every comment he makes. He mentioned that city workers hadn't had a raise in 10 years, which is BS. Hopefully, I've made this more clear now. Secondly, when I drink, I actually have even more clarity than I do now. Thirdly, I don't really waste time on brackets, though I hated to see Duke exit so quickly.

My wife is a teacher (city worker) and she has had 1 raise in 10 years. And that was to offset the increase in health insurance premiums. I think the Police have had 1 or 2 and that was for retention and recruitment. So City Workers haven't had a bunch of or any raises in a long time. So it's not really BS

Don't feel bad, "private sector" aviation workers have had nothing but pay cuts since 1990! And the "public sector" works for them

City should only be involved in the civic center if it benefits the community financially.

I learned about a year ago that there are people who know much more than I do so I should just shut up and let them talk about the news because they know what's going on better than I do.
