I am thinking the "No news is good news" rule applies here. Personally I think a change is needed.

Insert new life into program, win games, fill Vines Center, go to NCAA Tournament. not lose 20 games a season to inferior schools.

The only news to report would be if he was being let go. He signed a three-year extension. He's not being let go. It would have happened already. Schools don't wait until more than a week after the season to make that move. Dunton was fired the day after the VMI tournament loss.

Chris is right. Layer's staying. The fact he hasn't been fired already indicates as much. As much as I like Layer as a person, he should have been let go. I have a feeling LU basketball will struggle mightily next year and the excuse given will be inexperience. That in turn could give Layer another year at the helm of the program. Call me a pessimist, but I think these next couple years will be rough to watch.

I agree NG33. We will continue to struggle thru bad seasons unless Layer improves recruiting. Need more athletic players who can run the floor and score.

Also need to put teams away in second half. We were in position to win a few games in last 4 minutes of game this past season. That may come down to coaching.

I wonder if they will discount season tickets and Flame Club memberships...

There were a lot of issues to be had with this year's squad ballcoach, but I would not throw this year's incoming group under the bus just yet. BB is showing a lot of promise and could come in and surprise right away. Gielo and Smith have a chance to take the lead and really be good mentors to the incoming bigs as well. Will be fun to see how these guys do when they get together this summer and start to get to know each other and their various styles.

and PH is right...there really is only one hater, but he tends to spread like a virus. I think everybody else (myself included) loves the guy, we just think that his shelf life has passed its expiration date but he will get a chance to show what he can do with this new group.

There's really only one Layer Hater. But he hates Barber more.
In fact, besides him, I'm not sure anyone hates Layer
Prove what? Are we looking at the same Vines Center, the total apathy for this program. What has hate got to do with this total failure? Do you really think that this is a right way to invest university funds? So now it is the players and Eaker's fault....what a pathetic excuse for LU vision.
