Probably not a vote at the tournament. Their commissioner is going to be doing a lot of behind the scenes stuff to gauge the vote and try to sway people for a hopeful vote in the next month or two.

What if schools chose to abstain rather than vote? I'm not sure of the Sun Belt rules but I could see that as an escape hatch for schools showing displeasure without stopping the addition.

An abstention would not help because it does add to the Yes votes

If some schools abstained from voting, instead of voting, "no", wouldn't that lower the number of "yes" votes needed?

The number of votes needed would be a percentage of all eligible members, not just those who cast a vote. So an abstention equals a no vote.
