I see alot of other schools have close to double digit recruits for the 2014 campaign. I wonder what is, if anyone knows the number of "scholies" that we have available going into next year. Last year, there was a big number of commitments for 2013. What is our situation as to why we cant continue getting recruits to want to commit earlier than later.

Based on a cursory glance at the listing from the Gameday Central for the Brevard game, we have at least 18 scholarships to give (Here is the thread where I broke down the team needs for 2014 Signing Day: https://www.flamefans.com/forums/viewto ... it=seniors) as of tonight as we are inside of a month to signing day, we are about 1/3 of the way there, with 1 QB (not a team need), 1 RB, 1 DL, 2 OL and 1 ATH

Keep in mind that some walk-ons typically earn a scholarship each year and we likely have some folks leave through attrition. We could also have some transfers gobble up some scholarships as well. So I don't believe we have a hard and fast total number available. And I would also suspect we probably have a few more commitments that we haven't identified.

The dead period for FBS coaches is finally over so that is heating up this week. Most of our top targets are waiting to hear if that late FBS offer is going to come down the pike. On the other hand, once a few of our top targets are taken off the board, some guys who really want to come our way may get their anticipated offer late. It happens every year.

Seems to me that we really need to score a couple linebackers. I thought this last year and we lost one signee. Hyland is gone and nick has 1 yr left. Thats going to be tough to find. Glad to see were looking at kicking options as well.

I hope theres a lot of guys out there we dont know about. It seems sure that we will add one of the kickers and the new safety since were the only offer. Weve heard a little scuttlebutt on a few of the other guys but it seems this class may not be as strong as the first 2 thus far. Im sure there is 2 or 3 out there we havent identified yet
