Bobby Jindal has one of my favorite quotes regarding the situation:
“The politically correct crowd is tolerant of all viewpoints, except those they disagree with…. this is a free country and everyone is entitled to express their views. In fact, I remember when TV networks believed in the First Amendment. It is a messed up situation when Miley Cyrus gets a laugh, and Phil Robertson gets suspended.”

I liked
"you love them more than you fear them so you tell them'. That's for any unsaved person.

Out of honest curiosity, can someone point me to a reputable blog or website that makes the best case for homosexuality being ordained by God in the Bible?

If anyone was uneducated in this comment it was you. You assumed Phil Robertson was uneducated. You did not do any research on the person, just shot off your mouth making you seem to be the uneducated one. Seems that is what the queer community is good at lately.
And I admitted as such way up there after I was called out on it. Or did you conveniently miss that?
Also, don't call me queer.
For that you would need to talk to SMOOTH!

Ill let you know from the start, I like Duck Dynasty I like that they are a Christian family and I like a lot of things they stand for. However, I do not agree with what Phil said in his interview, especially in regards to belittling what African Americans went through in the Jim Crow south. Even though I and many others disagree with what he said, he has a right to say it freely, but he is not exempt from the ridicule and backlash he will receive from it. Comes with the territory, ask Paula Deen and the Dixie Chicks about spouting their mouths off, Phil is not alone in this. Ultimately A&E has an image they like to maintain and what Phil said is not part of it, they're a private company and it's their prerogative to send him packing if they want, just like it was Food Networks to send Paula packing and radio stations and record companies to walk away from the Dixie Chicks. You can disagree with people without insulting them which is what he did.

I guess everyone interprets what they read differently. What I heard was that as a young man he witness oppressed blacks and poor whites, that were Godly, enjoying their day together, regardless of social status. And all the wealth, power or entitlements in the world will not make you happy, happy, happy, like having a personal relationship with the Savior will?

Phil was a poor white, living among the poor blacks at that time, but they had something he did not have, a connection to God. He did not see them oppressed as they had a happiness he did not have until years later. Phil was still poor from a money material standpoint when he accepted Christ, but he will tell you he was happy at that time. I see nothing wrong about what Phil said about the homos or black. Remember this was Phil's viewpoint talking about the blacks at that time. I doubt if he had a TV to know about the civil rights movement going on at that time.

I agree with you 4everfsu, but why do you continue to say 'the homos'. Is it for some kind of shock value or what?

Agreed--one article I read said that Phil has stated that growing up, his parents' house had no running water, no inside toilet, and no bathtub, and he also stated that he was living in conditions more like the "1850s than the 1950s."

On the gay issue, I like what Benjamin Carlson said:
The recent controversy over Phil Robertson of A&E's Duck Dynasty is symptomatic in how society has migrated from the principles that founded our nation. Our nation was founded by men who had strong Judeo Christian beliefs. As we move away from that precise belief system there are going to be more conflicts of this nature. The real question we must ask ourselves is have we improved human nature to the point where we no longer regard the Judeo Christian principles that founded our nation as worthwhile. Additionally we must ask is it important for people to be able to express their beliefs or more important to hide their beliefs. Unless we can openly discuss these kinds of situations we become a plastic society in which no one actually knows what anyone truly stands for. It is time for us to grow up and act like mature individuals who can discuss our differences hopefully and perhaps come to some reasonable understanding. This controversy is the very reason I rail so strongly against political correctness.

Remember the words of Saul Salinsky the original community organizer who said "Never to have a discussion with your adversary for that humanizes them and your job is to demonize them". Let us move away from this senseless philosophy and begin to think of ways that we can uplift and encourage each other and not tear each other down. This must be done through civil and cogent discourse.

Homos, queers, etc, I am not going to be PC to appease anyone anymore. When I grew up gay was a term to describe happiness. They hijacked the word 'gay' for their own agenda, now they want to hijack marriage. I am tired of them pushing their agenda to equate their relationship to be the same as what God ordained for a man and woman in Genesis.

By that logic it's still OK to use N-- or any other slur. :brownbag How is saying Homosexual instead of Homo a bad thing? Although I do remember Jesus calling the woman about to be stoned slut....so...

You don't need to be PC or change your views but we as Christians need to be loving about it. Your speech is far from loving. Not that I am a saint when it comes to this. We all do it but it needs to stop simply because we are frustrated with an issue. Homosexuality and gay marriage is far from something that should get you this worked out. Cheating husbands make me way more angry. Just to name one. Ok enough with this serious crap

And queer was hijacked as a slur. It used to mean weird. Probably that's what it meant when you were growing up.
