Are you always miserable and negative, or do you save it just for us?
Thank you, for saying what I was thinking.

Any word on the Wake Forest job? Who has been interviewed?
Pete Lembo (Ball State, former Lehigh/Elon), Dave Clawson (Bowling Green, former Richmond)

No I'm not bitter...
No I'm not miserable....
You guys think of Gill like he's Vince Lombardi, I don't

Anybody with some football sense and decent staff that try's to recruit can be Co Champs at LU in the Big South, my gosh all you gotta do is beat crappy VMI, PC, GW, & CSU....that's not exactly the SEC West or East.

Other FCS coaches around the state, region agree they do LESS! With MORE on the mountain!

Stop making excuses for your program and demand results that Dr Falwell envisioned!

We all want outright championships and playoff berths BSK, but if you really understood your audience here, you would know we don't think that he can do no wrong

Is that why there was a very long thread here asking if Gill was the man for the job? A mind is a terrible thing to waste. :)

That's the story for all of our sports. He's done no worse than Rocco and IMO, he's laid a more solid and sustainable foundation for the future than any other coach has. The guy is 2 years in and I think he's projecting well. If we had 3 and 4 the place finishes you'd be on to something. You want results? Switching coaches every 2 years is a guaranteed recipe to NOT get them.

I don't say this often but PH is right. Gill is headed into his third spring and he will have at least 1 more year with a mix of his players and Rocco's players. If we changed coaches now we would possibly set the program back at least 2 years possibly a full recruiting cycle (4 years). give him one more year at least I say

Purple probably hears this a lot (esp. from his wife), but the man is a GENIUS! :fineprint

Wake Forest athletic director Ron Wellman has started the coaching search, and Blogger So Dear will be breaking down the resumes of potential replacements. Next on the list is Richmond's Danny Rocco. Could he be Wake Forest's next head coach?

Danny Rocco is no stranger to Wake Forest University, as he graduated with a Bachelor's degree in 1984 and a Master's degree in 1987. Rocco is in his second season as head coach of the Richmond Spiders.

That for posting, Sly. The comments at the end of the article were interesting reading. Any chance Rocco pulls a McKay and goes to Wake as an assistant coach?

Good question. I wonder if by sitting out this year he can go play immediately anywhere :dontgetit

No chance he leaves UR for a Wake Assistant Head Coach role. He had that at UVa. He wants to run the show. And whether or not his nephew will be playing for him likely has very little bearing on his situation.

The more I read online, the better I think his chances may be in Winston-Salem.

I never said word about changing coaches, not my place... But good coaches can take other coaches players an win with them... Gus Malzahn and the rich guy for Coastal being 2 examples. its just unfortunate that LU cant excel to its full capability....

I'm not a fan of Gill's as a coach, I believe he was publicly over hyped after his Buffalo year. Although LU & the Big South may be a good fit for him considering the level of competition.

Fair enough, but I just want to know where you got the idea that this board is full of people who think Gill is the greatest coach ever?? Where and when did you ever read that? I don't think BJ even gives him THAT much praise.

Good. Not that I'm a WF fan, but UConn was also looking at Clawson. Now with him taking the Wake job, they can put all their ducks in the Pat Narduzzi pond. I'd like to see what he can do in Storrs.
